I got a call from my dealer to come in and finalize my order today, as GM has resumed taking orders now that they believe the strike has ended. Has anyone heard that as well ?
The strike has not attended. UAW leadership has approved a tentative contract and this week the broader membership are voting on ratification (supposed to be completed by October 25). They remain on strike until the contract is ratified.
I would be very hopeful. I have dealt with very large union contracts, or at least been part of that process for many years.....and in my experience, if the Union is actually putting it out for a vote...the higher-up in the union believe it would be excepted, otherwise they would still be at the table.
Per the last constraint report, there are ZERO C8 allocations nationwide this cycle (started last Thursday).Dealers can enter orders into Order WorkBench, but that doesn't mean they can assign it to an allocation and have the order move beyond 1100.
