Default Ground effects

When will we see ground effects on an actual car? I wonder why we haven't seen even one . Are they holding them back so the aftermarket can't copy them for a while?

Probably just a higher risk of damage with all the demo'ing and testing.

The "ground effects" package from GM is simply add-on bodywork with very little change in the aerodynamics.

Real ground Effects would place a flat panel under the car with air channels and a set of venturis at the back.

It's gonna be like the High Wing Spoiler. You have to go out in the wild and look for it. Keep an eye out for those rare sightings.

Not sure why we havent seen it yet. Would imagine carbon fiber is pretty finicky to work with. Couldnt think a supplier issue would have held it up this long but all I can think of ATM.

Maybe just an unintended consequence but the ground effects on my C7 Z06 were acting as a paint saving device. The ground effect pkg was on constraint when I ordered the car and I got aftermarket ones. In the 500 miles I drove before receiving them the paint was trashed. Obviously the C8 is an entirely different car but it can't hurt to have them.
Maybe the first ones will show up on an Accelerate Yellow car!
