Great presentation. It's what I would expect at a Program Design Review. Thanks for the share.

Lots of interesting details in there.
  • Venthan Red is the valve cover color
  • 60's styled LT2 Tonawanda badge on the valve covers
  • eLSD and mLSD have different final drive ratios yet the same ring gear ratio (achieved through different transfer gear ratios)
  • eLSD ring gear is welded to the differential (guess we're not swapping gears on the Z51 cars)
  • 2 transmission filters - 1 lifetime service interval, 1 20k

SO every 20k miles we have to change the transmission filter as a new service interval. Thanks for the heads up.

Not miles, but 20k kilometers. Big difference.

If it's every 20k miles in an easily accessible location, and literally just screw off old one then screw on new one without any fluid change, no biggie.

WRONG. READ THE DAMN ARTICLE! THIS IS WHY SOCIAL MEDIA AND POLITICS ARE SO MESSED UP, NOBODY READS.

It clearly says DCT filter every 20K MILE or every 3 oil changes. It will have a service life monitor like the oil and will tell you when to have it changed. Filter is changed separate from the fluid service interval.

Awesome, don't get this type of engineering "behind the scenes" information for most other car models, great read!

I was wondering if this feature would available on this DCT.

Free Rev: Simultaneously pull both paddles.

It's not going to be the 650 hp MotorTrend was blabbing about BUT there is NO WAY that Power/Torque graph produces a sub 3 second 0-60 ...This engine produces WAY more horsepower and torque than advertised , like closer to 550 than 500

It's gearing, weight transfer and traction. The engine is SAE rated at the crank - the graphs of which have been posted in here.

It's not under-rated.

No... the motor is SAE certified, just like the LS7, LS9, LT1, LT4, and LT5 before it. They've all proven accurate. Gearing and traction matter. The car makes 2 shifts and is in 3rd gear when it hits 60. They can do this because the DCT loses no power transfer between shifts. If you read the presentation it talks about this when using launch control.
