Any definitive word on headroom differences between the coupe and vert? I notice on the visualizer the coupe targa top seems to have a recessed area, but can't tell about the HTC. Considering a change, but at 6'4", I'm worried about having to include the cost of spinal reconstruction to fit in a vert. As a side note, I'm also concerned about the long term reliability of that whole system over time after warranty which could be a financial nightmare like similar arrangements on other cars over the years. I realize the latter concern no one can predict and I'm shooting craps if I decide to go that route.
At the west coast reveal of the convertible, the presenters said that with the seat all the way back the convertible actually has slightly more headroom than the coupe, because of the lack of the targa bar. Official headroom figures are with the seat at a standardized location, so won't show that. Of course, if you're not well over 6 feet tall, you won't be putting the seat all the way back anyway.
On a racetrack, sure. On the street? Doubt you'll ever notice the difference.
Which would seem to indicate those who want to track the car would be better off with the coupe if they want maximum performance. Not only would I be interested to hear how much different a base car handles on the track vs. a Z51/Mag, but how a vert compares to an equally equipped coupe.
