Default Quality issues?

Hi,

Just saw this on Motor1...new C8

GM wants to hire an unspecified number of temporary workers from the local and surrounding area. The position requires no college degree with the pay starting at $16.67 an hour. After 90 days, holiday pay and health care options are available, and temporary employees may receive preference if a full-time position becomes available

Brand new workers on new state of the art C8 at wages below Amazon warehouses, anyone else nervous on builds?

OP, do you have a link to the Motor1 story? I haven't been able to find it.

That was part of the strike issue and now contractual for the UAW. If I was a temp worker looking for a great union contract job, I’d be busting my hump to make the cut. I doubt the senior Bowling Green line cadre will tolerate clumsy slackers mucking up their show. Just my .02....

I can definitely see why there would be concern but I don't think there will be issues. Quality control should remain the same and the car should be built to GM standards. It's like they are using cheaper materials or anything.

I won’t take a penny under $16.68 an hour.

Also doesn't state what the temporary workers are going to do, could help building the new assembly lines, QC of cars after they have been build etc.

You have to trust GM management to match workers to jobs for which they are qualified. I suspect laid off former workers with experience (the best teacher) will get the first options, anyway.

Did you expect GM never again to need or hire entry level workers?

I have owned 6 Corvettes and have been very pleased with their reliability. Small sample size, but as sports cars go, my Corvettes were/are reliable.
