Default Help w/dealer pricing please

What is the meaning of w dfc in a dealers pricing proposal? My dealer gave me the following on my order....

msrp 71320
invoice w dfc 67818
gms w dfc 64101
supplier w dfc 66713

i assume invoice is dealer invoice. BUT. When I used the spreadsheet off the forum to build the car I got

dealer invoice of 64999 and dealer cost of 60786

i know there are games to be played but there’s are a few ks bouncing around. We initially agreed to dealer invoice plus $500, but it looks like there are 2 dealer invoice numbers being tossed around.

Both the spreadsheet and his recap agree on msrp so it’s all in this dfc stuff?

thanks

With Destination Freight Charge. The $1,095 they charge to take the car from BG to either the Muesuem or your ordering dealer.

This is the first time I have seen a c8 deal below MSRP. I must be missing something?

If memory serves, Greg is a long time customer of the dealership and they offered it to him. He needs to be viewed as a bit of a unicorn as I haven't heard of anyone else getting a break. I sold for ten years at my dealer and was a manager and I'm not getting $1 off list.

There ia also cost to dealer that is advertising cost.

All they have to do is show you the invoice when car is built.

wow Phil, your memory is impressive! Yes I have a relationship with a dealer, have bought and sold all my recent corvette through him and he takes good care of me. He always discounts but does not have many allocations.

I now understand dfc but that is in the forum spreadsheet at dealer invoice of 64999. Still a gap somewhere.

Also I appreciate folks reading this and wanting to know the dealer. No need to Pm me with the popularity of the car and his limited allocations he can’t offer this deal to anyone else. 6 years ago he provide great deals on the initial c7s but those days are gone.

LOL, I'm lucky to remember my name these days. I believe the the 64999 may be with hold back taken out, that is NEVER considered for what invoice is. Invoice will say $67,818.00 and then they will add the $500 to it for the $68,318.00 I may be wrong, wouldn't be the first or the last, but pretty sure on this one.

Sounds like a good deal you are getting. Good to see a dealer taking care of a long time customer.

There is a New England dealer that gives $500 off MSRP but you have to be a repeat customer. I purchased my 2014 C7 from them so I was offered $500 off my C8 order. I know $500 isn’t much, but it’s better than nothing.

These above postings all beg the question--but I don't have enough "math data" from the above to come up with the answer.

Given the MSRP and the invoice price.... what typically is the dollar difference between the two values for a 2LT with Z51?

Is "that number" (i.e., MSRP minus Invoice) effectively the dealer's profit?

Thanks..... I"m not targeting the C8, nor the Corvette...... Wondered this for a number of years and marques......

From what I understand, this is the correct equation (someone please correct me if I’m wrong):

Invoice - Holdback = Dealer’s Cost

Here is a possible scenario; if a vehicle carries an MSRP of (for example) $50K, and the Invoice is $45K, and the Holdback is $5K, the true cost to the dealership is (in this scenario) $40K. The Holdback is the reason some dealerships can sell at “Invoice” and still make money on that particular sale.

Your reasoning is correct. For GM dealers, holdback is MSRP minus freight times 3%.
