Default C8 door width (thickness)

What is the thickness of the door at it rear most edge. Will it be an issue in a parking stall or a tight garage? My 2016 Z06 just fits with room for me to squeeze out . The C8 appears to be substantially thicker.

Is it just the angle of this shot or is the thickness 2 feet ?

13"

I measured it at a dealer showing.

Primarily the angle of the photo, but the leading with the leading edge of the air scoops on the doors, that part is going to make it much wider than average. Below is one of the thinnest doors out there on an MX-5 shot at a similar odd angle.

That photo makes the door look 24" thick. I think we all would worry about that. I'm sure its an optical illusion.

How long is the door?

It looks like nightmare for tight parking spots. There will be so many threads about banging the door against the garage walls. lol

You can get a pretty good idea where your feet are in relation to the door opening. If you close that door in to the next hinge stop that area where your feet are gets closed in. I think the designers at GM took a nap on this one. If they did, we will hear about it on here I guess.

Agreed. Coupled with a general physique it's a recipe for a lot of bitch and moaning. lol

They could've gone with vertical door hinges...

Never been a fan of them but the C8 could pull them off!

When fully opened, it opens at almost the exact same distance from the car as the C7. I took measurements on both.

I'm not worried about it.

I have yet to sit in one, but I'm thinking is has to be easier to get in and out of in tight spaces than my '18 Camaro...good god, those doors are huge! I swear, I've become a contortionist living with that car.

I have about 24 inches space between my current C7 GS and my Cadillac XT4 which I keep on the left side of the garage.
I am 5' 7" and about 140 lbs. and can squeeze in without my C7 door opening fully, will I be able to do so with my future C8?

So to the person above you, you suggest he parks it down the road and walks home if need be.

I have taken a thick blanket and stapled it along the garage wall where the door could possibly touch. About 2 weeks ago I fixed up the garage so that when Les Stanford Chevrolet calls everything is already fine.

Yes I'm getting the garage ready for my C8.I posted before about this and I've thrown out huge amounts of junk and I have measured the garage floor with the length and width of the C8..I only have to park my '18 Honda Goldwing bagger next to the car,so there should be plenty of room..

Mine will be parked in the driveway as other toys take up all my garage space.
