Default Production has started!

If this has already been talked about in another thread, feel free to delete it. I have a family friend that works at the Bowling Green plant. He messaged me yesterday on Facebook to see if I still had my C8 order because he was hearing a lot of people were cancelling their orders, I said of course I still have mine. He said they started production on retail models on Monday but the line was not running super good and he has had some long boring days. But good news that it has started before schedule, bad news the line is not running very efficient yet.

I am sure the line not running very efficient yet was expected, probably why they went ahead and started a little early, to try and work out any kinks in the line.

We have 3 cars within the first 285 VIN's to be produced (#00070, 00179 and 00285) and none of them show produced yet. They all still show TPW dates of Monday (2/3). I'd imagine they would've at least built that many cars the first week...

It must be a huge task to coordinate all of the suppliers so that all of the parts needed to build a car are on hand. Not only on hand, but checked out to be sure that the initial batch is made to spec. Then, when a problem is found with one part, the whole line is held up until that gets worked out with the supplier and new parts are made available. It's difficult enough with a new Corvette, but can you imagine what this process is like for a new Boeing aircraft?

I wasn't surprised when he said they were not running very good yet but hopefully it is something they can correct quickly. I am still at 1100 and don't have a TPW so hopefully I can get that soon.

NIIIIICE to see production ramping up. To all who have their cars built on Monday Feb. 3rd, good luck. Day after Super Bowl must be the biggest hangover day of the year...
