I've heard Z51 cars will be delayed from shipping to colder climates, due to the tires being rated for 3 seasons only. Does anyone have any info on this?
Is there a way to waive the hold? I saw a picture of a snowy ZR1 being delivered last year...
The C7 Cup 2 ZP tires had the same limitations on them and they were shipped all year long to all parts of the country and Canada. Actually, Michelin advises the tires shouldn't be used or stored in ambient temps below 21 degrees F. However, cars were produced and shipped during times when temps were that low and then the car's sat on dealers lots in temps lower than that.
Not sure where you heard that, but I seriously doubt there's any truth to it, unless Chevy wants you to ship the car back to BG during the winter temps. Don't believe it
They never seemed to care about this in the past. Unless they recently started to care? My friends Z06 showed up in MT after being on a dead car carrier in WELL below zero temps for 2 or 3 days. His tires were cracked and they ended up replacing all of them. AFTER all sorts of BS from GM. Had to call in the area Rep, go after the carrier company, etc.
