There is one in the C7, can’t see why they would have done away with it for the C8. For the C7, you access it from under the (front) hood, and it slides in through the firewall, near the top on the passenger side.

Yup, just under that opening that I've named "Kathryn", in honor of my ex wife is the CAF. There is a pic of it in one of the early threads that shows the front compartment with the vanity liner removed. It is very similar in size/shape to the C7. Would not be surprised to find it uses the same p/n.
Yes, the cabin filter is located behind that cover that is next to the air intake and battery in the photo above. Here is a YouTube video on how to change it
Looks like a good filter - until I discovered it was made in China. I wonder if there are any good filters made other than in China?
The Fram FreshBreeze is about as good as you'll get as far as cabin air filters go. You can get the Bosch HEPA (also made in China) but that severely cuts airflow/efficiency. The Champion Labs/Luber-Finer carbon ones are pretty nice too. TYC carbons (China) are ok. The standard ACDelcos (various... China, Germany, USA, etc.) are nothing special while their carbon ones (China) are above average. You're going to have a hard time finding a cabin air filter that isn't made overseas in Asia somewhere.
Found you one! The ACDelco CF185 has USA as the country of origin
$14.02 from RockAuto. OEM filter, nothing fancy.
Found you another one! Fram TrueAir CV11966 which apparently uses N95 material.
$19.97 at Walmart.

Reason: USA!
I still have our C6 replacement air filter in the garage. Never installed it. Kept it when I read it would fit our C7. Which is also gone away. I doubt I'll find out, but it might fit the C8? Why reinvent a humble part like this when an off the shelf piece would work?

C6 & C7 shared, but the C8 is a different size that's now shared on many newer vehicles across the GM fleet.
