Is anyone getting the splash guards? Do they look good and do I need them? My dealer called me today to come down with my deposit which I am doing Monday. I ordered the car last Fall, but he just got my allocation today. I ordered the splash guards originally and can change. I could just get them and not have them put on until I hold them onto the car to see what they look like. Just worried about the chips from road debris. Opinions welcome. Just noticed my spelling problem. Oh well.

You need them. Get them. They will look fine. I never leave the dealers lot without them on the car. I have a pair that I will be taking with me to my Museum delivery and will install them myself in the parking lot.

I bought them over the counter and picked them up yesterday. They are just like the C7 ones as far as an install. One bolt at the bottom and snap fit connectors up the side. An easy DIY and save a fair amount.
Passing on them... had them on my C7. They stick out a little and don't do much. For this car I'm clear-braing all the areas that will get impacted vs. having "mudflaps" on the car.
Furthermore, you should have seen the lower rear bumper after track use... the paint was nearly gone in the areas in red. Splash guards don't do anything for that.
Lastly... take your time popping them out and make sure your shop or work area is warm. I had one of the metal clips get stuck in the fender slot and it took a chunk of the fender slot with it making the part not fit as good going back in. However, this was after they'd been installed a long time on a 2014 car in 2018... so brand new cars should be more pliable.

Thanks for passing this information on. I have never had any trouble changing them out but will be more careful next time especially if its cold. I always take the large splash guards off the car I am trading in, put them on the new car and put the new stock splash guards on the car I'm trading in. The set I bought for the C7 lasted four cars.
Don't buy them from your dealer... the dealer price is MSRP... on e bay they are $130 from cultrag... and they just pop right in. there is no "install"
Well,
I guess I will not get them from the dealer. I installed guards on my wife's wrangler and it turned out to be more work than it should have been. I had to go buy more and better plastic pop rivets because the ones supplied with the guards were garbage. Not sure how these mount. I would guess it would use the same screw holes either reusing the factory screws or maybe needing longer ones depending on the guard thickness. The clear bra/film is an interesting idea for those lower areas. I don't want the film on the rest of the car though. This forum has been great.

Properly done XPEL is invisible. Never worry about rock chips again. Never worry about your wife properly picking up her feet getting in/out.
