This is my email from GM today. I had a TPW of 3/9. hope he is right. If the car does not ever get here, I have a brand new red engine cover for sale
Hey Barry!
I did have a chance to look into the order status for you. I am seeing that your 2020 Corvette Stingray Coupe 2LT in Torch Red is at order status 3000! Temporarily, the TPW has been removed but you can expect to see it reappear when it reaches status 3300. Additionally, if you had a TPW in the past, you can expect that to be the same
Second shift added will pop these cars out! Have no fear...just hope hold does not uncover any issues? Having said that if they do find an issue do they unwrap all the cars in the lot and bring them inside to fix?
Re: retrofitting of assembled cars. Historically a third party vendor is contracted to perform updates. Roush is one company that provides this service (Roush does a ton of contract engineering to many automakers and even other industries). I can’t remember if it was C7 or Kappa (Solstice/Sky) but Roush did the updates.

Noooooo ........... They would suffer diminished value if it rains . . . . . .
Just consider yourself lucky if you don't get one....I can already see all kinds of issues to work out...why deal with the headache...Let the other fools deal with GM and this flop it if happens. Worse case, you get one off the lot for way cheaper. There just seems to be too many issues so far with all that I have seen...so glad I'm waiting for the Z...
Do you have inside info on all the known issues? Can you list them for us all? I assume the warranty will not cover all your identified known issues? The haters should go to the Dodge site.

This ......... That is my game plan. There will be plenty of garage queens to choose from once the Z is released. Mostly 3 and 2 LT's, heavily optioned. All to be scooped up at bargain basement prices. Say hi to Randy for me .........

I too think they will be available, but excellent condition and quick delivery won’t result in “bargain basement” prices for awhile. The first 6 month or so wave of Z06 flippers should get decent ROI on eBay. I have no interest in a $125,000 Z06 as present C8 performance is plenty for me, so the fact I got suckered into the MSRP vortex is inconsequential as this car will be around for many years to come. Besides 5 years from now, the competition will have caught up and the Vette will have plenty of high-value mid-engine supercar competition, so if a sale occurs by me, it will be a competitor’s product.
I do plan on selling my base wheels almost immediately though.
Suckered to pay msrp? Are you for real. The pricing on the first year c8 is awesome.
second year will see a price increase. Sa,e for third year...then if and when sales slows down there will be a five percent discount if your lucky...bringing you right back to msrp for the 2020 if you are lucky.
i happen to agree the c8 performance is spectacular, under 3 flat to 60 mph? Im good.
maybe the z51 should have had wider wheels but hey thats not a big deal. Specifically more so for the fronts.
