Remember GM has to built and sell this car for 6 years before the C9 comes out? GM target production number is 35,000-40,000 cars per year? That could never happen with a price increase of $7,500. I respectfully disagree. First of all, the $59,995 price of the base model was hailed as totally remarkable and unbelievable. So many people asked...How could they possibly offer a mid-engine for that price? I have no idea what the price increase will be, but even if it is $7,500, too many people would still see it as an absolute deal. Think about it this way - if the C8 had initially been introduced at $67,495, folks wouldn't have given that price a second thought. And you say that more than half of the customers would cancel their order. Really? If the C8 is such a good deal, you and I both know that it isn't going to happen. To the people that can afford a new C8, a price increase won't keep them from buying, unless they have to borrow 90% of the purchase price to get into one. And if that's the case, those folks are buying a car way out of their price range to begin with.

In Canada they started the c7 in 2014 at $52995 CAD and raised it to $62995 in 2015. They raised it again to $64995 in 2016 and finally ended it at $67445 in 2019. As you can see there is a substantial price difference between the first and last year of production, in Canada anyway. That's why a 2020 C8 is a must here before prices go up.

Add in the new models no doubt coming, coupled with upgrades and refreshes, and 2020 C8s will be yesterday's has-beens in short order, just like every other generation.

true...but those statements were made by a Chevy dealer GM last week as what they’d heard....obviously not official, but the dealer has a significant allotment.

Don't forget to add the price of the Automatic transmission to the base price.....$1995 that was not included in the 2019.....and is on the 2020

Maybe temporarily, but the eBay window will be very short, perhaps 4-6 months at best. 2020s will not be any more valuable a year or so down the line, and they will depreciate just like any other used Corvette of any previous generation.

If there are some 2020 orders that are accepted at 1100 and have to be bumped to 2021 model year i would bet that these orders will be price protected against any 21 price increase. Just an educated guess.

Totally up to the dealer but my guess is most dealers won’t cover the additional cost of a 2021 that’s the customers responsibility. Also the base price will not go up $7500. I have an order in that is still at 1100. If I have to get a 2021 model I don’t expect the dealer to eat that extra cost which they shouldn’t.

Well... according to my Dealer's uncle's, cousin's, sister in law's, nephew's father - 2021s were only going up $7499. I would take his word over your guy's any day. Just sayin.

Fact... The average build price of c8 is 83k. There is no doubt in my mind the base will increase too $67500, than they will discount if and when sales slow down 5k off in 2022

Why do do people think a midengine car costs more to make than a front engine car? Sorry, GM is not going to build Corvettes so they could take a big loss on each one sold. That’s just ridiculous.
