Default Rear Spoiler?

I did my order with no rear spoiler this time around. I am curious so to see what most people prefer. I can always add it later if I feel like I made a mistake. My original TPW is 4/6 for a convertible 3lt.

So, how does Yes and No answer the question if it looks better With or Without?

Dam not able to edit polls. Select yes if you like the spoiler, select no if you don't like it.

I have no skin in the game for a C8 but the spoiler looks too busy to me.

Pending aftermarket designs.

seeing as I am getting a NON-Z51 car....I would only have one option, as GM saw fit to NOT make the Z51 rear spoiler available as an option, so my only option is the high wing.....which is WAY TO BIG! not to mention, to complete the car you would have to get the ground effects pkg as well, with isn't even available till who knows when....SO with that …...its a great big WITHOUT for me.

Not big on the high wing. Looks ok on the track car. Rice on a street car. Z51 looks like a Pep Boys tacked on imho. Here's hoping the Z06 is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I do not need anything on my car that screams "Look At Me !"

The rear is the least attractive view of the C8, mainly due to the room made for the rear trunk.

I'd rate:
"No Wing" 6 out of 10
"Z51 Wing" 4 out of 10
"High Wing" 7 out of 10

To Each Their Own!

Default Good to have choice.

I think the Z51 spoiler looks great and completes the back of the car. The high wing is a little too big for my taste and no spoiler is a clean look but I prefer the Z51 spoiler with a little more going on.

A lot of it has to do with the body color chosen. On your build it is a class act. It blends very nicely. It is not "in you face." If I am blessed, once the Z06 come out, I will find a gently driven LBRM 3LT "Never driven in the rain" Z51. I will simply change the spoilers.

Not sure I follow your logic. In the C7 guise, the Z06 surely has more “look at me” stuff going on than the Stingray; even more than the Z51. What makes you think it will be different for the C8?

It will be interesting what the Z-06 rear wing will look like. I think the car looks very clean without the spoiler but a little racey with the Z-51 wing. To me the high wing looks a little out of place.

Over time the spoilerless car will look more current.

I really don't care for the Z51 aka 1992 Z28 spoiler... I get it function over form but just out of place unless the car has aero on the sides and front and at that point its jist too busy all around.

They even had a version of the current C8 Z51 spoiler on the C7 as an accessory. Didn't care for it there either.

The highwing to me looks like a 12yo designed his own corvette... beauty is in the eye.. no thanks.

You guys don't get it. You need the Z51 spoiler in carbon flash not body color. I'm a firm believer that the spoiler in person looks a lot better than in pictures. When I saw it in person it looks like it's supposed to be there. Without it it just looks like it's missing something, like active aero that never comes out. Without the spoiler it looks like a giant flat table top.

High wing is hideous.

I definitely think the car was originally designed without a spoiler in mind. I do agree the carbon flash spoiler looks better than body color, but none is the way to go. Too bad the only way to do that is without the Z51 package.

I don't like the rear Spoiler because to get it I have to opt for the Z51 Pkg because without that, you don't get the Front Spliter, to balance out the Aero effect of the rear spoiler. But I've saved myself a ton of money MSRP and Sales Tax wise, so I can afford a new C8.

Average Joe want know I've cheapened out, with this package, an there are not going to be that many C8 were I live for people to compare my Cheap-ed car to, and my cheap friends will still think I have a high dollar new Mid-Engine Corvette.

Then also don't have to worry about have to shift form 1st to 2nd, two MPH sooner, 2nd to 3rd, 3 MPH sooner an 3rd to 4th, MPH sooner. That dang 5.17 Z51 rear end ratio is just to aggressive compared to the stock ratio.....LOL

Maybe I should save my money and wait until they release the Z06, or the GS, or the ZR or what ever they call them High HP/High Performance models and pick up a nice 100-500 mile, never driven in the rain Z51 equipped C8's I really wanted, when one of them, just have to a new C8 buyers, that can afford to buy a 2020 an, sale/trade, and buy their depreciated 2020 Z51 model.

I'm old, but I like younger people who like modern look cars. That's what they'er use to seeing. Those rubber-band looking tires mounted on those tall rims don't bother them either.

To Hell with it; at 76 year of age, I'm going to go for the Gusto! I'm going "Ricer" looks all the way, I'm going to get the Z51 option, add the High Wing option, an pretend I'm "Rich", an hang out with them Younger Folks, at least their girl friends or wives are a lot better looking than, what the 8 Wives I've had look like now.

Boy it's a good thing when they left me, an went back to Their Husbands when they left me, or I couldn't afford the Down Payment on My new C8, LT3 with Z51 pkg, Mag Ride, Lift Kit, etc, with My Ricer High Wing Spoiler (in body color) an Ground Effects!
Think Young! Thinking Old is no Fun, it's just the past.

Aero is what's it's about now. I want a car that looks like it's built for going fast. I don't care if it is or not. Or if other's don't like it. They can Please Them-self's, I never been a Herd/Pack Animal Type.

No one should feel the need to explain themselves for their choices.

I just got tired of reading the same old Why I'm not getting this or that. Their is No right or Wrong Choice, unless you Think/Feel that you know what's Best for All, that is the Wrong Choice.

The Ground effects, is to help stop rocks from chipping paint, an also for the Younger Crowd, as they understand Aero.

Is this Thread about someone who needs to feel better for opting out on things! Sort of Misery Loves Company thing. This subject has been covered so many, many times already!

Note: The only bad thing for me C8 wise, is my Insurance Company says I can not allow my Middle Age Girlfriend(s) 18-24 to drive the car, they are too young, so now I'm getting Cold Chills just thinking about having to raise my age limit from 18-24, to Old ones in the 25-30 year old range!
Heaven forbid I have to up to 31 & Up Ancient ones...LOL

Non spoiler looks so bland. The Z51 and the high wing do it justice.
