I recently visited a Chevrolet dealer to inquire about purchasing a C8. Although I have an allocation elsewhere I wanted to explore further. This dealer said he had many allocations and he could have me in a vehicle in April/May. He was charging $2,000 over MSRP, BUT THE BIG CATCH WAS HE WOULD NOT ACCEPT CASH. I WOULD BE REQUIRED TO FINANCE THE VEHICLE AND IF I PAID OFF THE LOAN EARLY THER WOULD BE A SUBSTANTIAL PENALTY. I said “no Thanks!” Has anyone else experienced this?
So he wants to charge a premium so that you can give him another premium by the return he will receive on your financing interest!
Guess he thinks he has you over a barrel but you are in good shape with your allocation elsewhere.
