That's the current understanding. We should know more after dealerships are notified in March not only what their March allocations are, but also guide numbers for the rest of the year and potentially when the last DOSP (Dealer Order Submission Process) for 2020 is going to be and when the first DOSP for 2021 is going to be.

Zymurgy...do you think most of those cars in the last concensus will be 1LTs??..
There are no constraints. Dealers can order whatever their customers are wanting. You'll start to see 1LT TPWs showing up. If you have a 1LT on order and your dealer has not submitted your order it is strictly because your dealer has not gotten enough allocations to get to your spot on their list (assuming your dealer is moving through his list in order and not playing games).

Thanks...yes the games....he was really upbeat that I could get in the February allocation...then all he's talking about is HTC orders...maybe with the March allocation more 1LTs will go in...
These has been zero problem ordering 1LTs since the September cycle (available in Dec, Jan, Feb). If your dealer is telling you that the problem is that you ordered a 1LT he is lying. Again, there have been NO CONSTRAINTS on orders since the September cycle (excluding the 5VM ground effects fiasco and Convertibles have only been available to order since January).
GM has been accepting 1LT orders since December, the order in which your car is submitted should be dictated by your position in line and not by your trim level. Sounds like your dealer might have found out their allocations are being slashed and they want to order quality over quantity and could be bumping you.
I am hoping to make it into the March group at MacMulkin, currently #68 and they had 67 allocations last month so it will be tight although last month was a low month for allocations.

Your dealer should be able to match your order with an allocation regardless of any other order spec so long as that dealer is matching in customer order (by date). Where GM assigns it in the TPW stream is another story. It's possible for you to be picked up ahead of the buyer behind you in chronological order with your dealer (even in a previous month's allocation cycle), but for that buyer behind you to get an earlier TPW by GM production control when they are picked up based on their spec.
From my experience, I'm guessing it's not unusual to paint only a subset of available colors at a time in large batches. When Sebring Orange (SO) was first offered after the new paint plant opened, BG only started building SO cars the last two weeks of 2018 production (Jan 2018). Mine was one of them.

No, he hasn't said that about my 1LT...I was just assuming they would be up to my number (58)on the list by now....then when I was reminded that 1LTs were going to start building late I breathed a sigh of relief...
No constraints means any order can be picked up by GM to status 3000 including 1LT which a lot of 1LT's are already. As far as being built certain colors and 1LT's will be built in March because that was the original plan even before the strike for ramp up and training purposes.

This appears to be the absolute truth. I was told today my order went to 3300, it was only picked up two and a half weeks ago in the February allocation. When looking at all orders in the system at our dealership, mine and one other white car are the only 2 of 7 that went from 3000 to 3300. The other white car, also a 1LT, got placed in December and both of ours went to 3300 the same day.
Your description explains a lot... Seems the driving factor after the order is accepted(2000) by GM is what they want to build, not how long they have had the order.
Sure looks like they are following the path they indicated when they originally had constraints on some colors and LT1 back in the fall . Not surprised !
