Random and maybe a dumb question, but would it be possible to have the destination fee waived on the C8? The reason I ask is that your already paying quite a good sum of money on the car, it seems like a minute thing to ask, but money saved is money saved. Much appreciate you all.
the same fee at all dealers regardless of where they are located...the thing is they really don't have to negotiate a lot with a car that is in high demand right now
Appreciate everyone's answers. I figured its worth a shot and thought maybe someone may have tried successfully. As of right now I see the destination fee is 1,095. Anyone have it cheaper?

So in addition to the $1095 delivery fee to a trucking company that will never touch your car, you gotta give the Museum almost another grand! At least they could have given the Museum Delivery cars a little break in price.
The destination charge is the same for all. Simplifies it for the manufacturer and dealers. It is averaged over all the cars going to all destinations. It cost more to send to CA than IL or TX. Should folks in those states pay less? This has been discussed in detail previously on the forum. Seems to come up frequently. Good luck with trying to negotiate a different price! You may get a discount on the car to help but there will not be a lesser actual charge for destination fee on the sticker price.

They are transported to the Museum.
What about the local Bowling Green Chevy dealership? Should they get a cheaper delivery fee? No. It is a flat amount regardless of where the delivery dealer is located. The R8C $995 charge provides support to the NCM which is a 503(c) organization that is NOT funded by GM. That helps pay for the PDI crew at the NCM and others involved in the R8C experience (your personal guides for the day and the rest of the R8C support staff).
I do feel the destination charge is excessive. With 10 cars on board, $10k is a lot to charge even if it is going to Seattle Washington. But that is apart of business.

Let's see, folks getting Museum Delivery pay $995 for that and STILL pay the $1095 destination fee for the short distance from the plant to the Museum.
And you want WHAT?
It's common to have fixed freight charges built into pricing. That is how we priced 40,000 lb truckload of welding wire. Same price for 10 or 3000 miles! Keeps it simple. In that case we paid much less for the short trip. My understanding is that is the fixed price arrangement GM makes with the trucker.
Fixed contract with Cooper. Chevy gets charged the same amount if it gets transported across the street to the museum or if it gets hauled across the country.
