When will they begin? The boulevard is empty on the webcam
Hard to say with QC hold and backlog to be shipped. I asked Shane Webb, museum delivery manager, this same question. He said during NORMAL production, museum delivery is usually ready for pickup about two weeks after the car is produced.

I spoke with Shane last week. They currently have a backlog of about 100 cars for Museum delivery. They can do 40 deliveries a week and as of Friday GM hadn't released any vehicles.
I have a quick question about this. I read somewhere for an additional fee you could watch your car being assembled over 2 days. Do I have that right?
It was the PD5 option. If I remember correctly you had to couple it with the PBC (Engine Build Experience). The PD5 option was $2500. and the PBC was $5000 for a total of $7500.
I did the PBC and PD5 on my 2017 Z06. It was a great experience! The engine build was on Monday and the car build started Wednesday and ended Thursday. You had a photographer follow you and your car around for the engine and car build. I must of gotten about 500 pictures on a disc and a nice bound book showing a range of pics from engine build to finished product with descriptions of the stages of build shown. The car received a special sticker from the museum showing the PD5 option was done.
Neither the PD5 nor the PBC are available at this time. If the bring them back they have to be added to the build at the time the order is placed.

The Buyers Tour is the item where you get to watch your car being assembled. It is $800. The Engine Build Experience is NOT required to do the Buyers Tour. The Engine Build Experience is not available at this time. See information on all NCM Delivery Programs here.

Thanks cbboarder!
That's something I've been wondering. My car was produced 3rd week and I'm getting Museum delivery.

Dang... that's going to be a lot of PDIs to do. Kind of glad my TPW is April so some of the initial rush can work itself out.

Yes there are two different things. One was an option that you ordered with the car and another is available through NCM. There is basically a guarantee that you will see your car built with the PD5 option because it was coupled with the engine build. There is no guarantee you will see your car being built with the Museum option and it is only one day I believe.
Engine Build/Buyers Tour Combination. Interesting, but not available on the C8 as the LT2 is built in the Tonawanda Engine Plant in NY. Likewise, it was not available for the LT1 C7's, only the LT4 (Z06) and LT5 (ZR1. Maybe it will be back for the future variants. Thanks for the info on the Combination.

I did see a rare sight a couple of days ago. I saw 2 C8's being led by a C7 on I565 from Huntsville to Decatur Alabama in front of the Space and Rocket Center. It happened quickly so it could have been more.
The boulevard is no longer empty, but it's not a C8 in there. Saw them buffing the floors of the Engineering exhibit area earlier and it's completed now.
If NCM deliveries begin tomorrow and supposedly they can do 40/week when could I expect to get my NCM delivery with a VIN# of 1012? What % of C8 production is slated for NCM delivery?

Can't wait for Jakes reply! He's a gnarly old bustard but he is knowledgeable and often humorous and you kids shouldn't pick on old guys like him and me.

I am # 1011 . I am not getting the Museum Delivery though.
