Default Radar detector mount

I was hoping Blendmount would come up with a radar detector mount for the C8, but after seeing this picture it looks like they're going to have a real challenge as there doesn't seem to be enough mirror stem real estate.

well.....From years ago when I used to build phone mounts for Audi's. Couldn't tell you today. Do an ebay search on Phone mounts, 17mm Ball mounts etc..

Here's one I googled.. https://www.arkon.com/category/17mm-...arkon-sbh.html

You guys ever get hassled for something "mounted" on the windshield?

Can you be pulled over for that (like two fuzzy dice)?

I have a Blendmount in my C7 attached to the mirror. i spoke to the folks at Blendmount a few weeks ago. The already have a C8 mirror in their possession and are working for a mount for the C8 for the various detectors. The are hoping to have the C8 mounts on the market this summer.

Laser jammer here, no need to worry about mounts.

If I had a Valentine-1 installed in my previous C7, I would have mounted it via the hardcore Velcro-like stuff they use for EZ Toll Passes and whatnot, as that stuff can A)stick to anything, and B)hold up anything. I would have stuck one side of the latching material directly to the plastic right above and in front of where the rear view mirror attached. And then I would have attached the V1 right up snug to the rear view mirror with the sensors hanging out along the side and bottom of the mirror. Then I might have attached a remote display down very low on the center console.

But this is all theoretical as I live in the Police State of VA where detectors are still illegal. But, theoretically, I might look to do something similar in the C8.

That looks almost exactly like the way I mounted my V1 in my C7 (I did a write-up somewhere but don't remember where).
The one thing I didn't like was how low it hung down (blendmounts were the same).
I'm going to evaluate the V1 mounting location possibilities in my C8. I'm considering mounting it above the center speaker between the seats but I'm not sure if it would get a clear view front and back. I'd put a radar transparent cover on it and install a remote display.

I installed the AL Priority laser jammer. From what I've read, it's supposed to be the best. For radar, I still use the V1, though am waiting for their new detector. A great site for these issues is https://www.rdforum.org/index.php

Well, at least the new V1 is out. Can't say the same for the C8.

Not worried about the mount, as I mount mine as high as possible to the right of the mirror with "Sticky Mount" suction cup . BUT hoping someone will define how (if possible) to tap the mirror for power.

Until then this is what I'll do:
