DCT Filter
In order to access the DCT filter you have to remove a number of bolts from the large cover.. The bolts are not SAE or metric heads or torx. My mechanic told me the name but I forgot what he said. He did not have a socket to fit them, but said he will order one.
Does anyone know the name and size of the tool?
Thanks in advance.

Those require a Torx socket.

It seems weird that they put unusual heads on fasteners like this. Anyone who needs to remove those fasteners will just go and buy the tools needed to do the job. Why not save them the effort and just put standard fasteners on there.

Those sockets are female by default. Us old guys never said " get me a 1/2 inch female deep socket". My useless reply of the day

That style head works well with automated torque wrenches used in assembly..
