The question I have, if an order is 2000 status and they drift over into 2021 production timeframe (September +), will we be price protected at a 2020 price on a 2021?. We damn well better be as long as we have waited. No changes for 2021 anyway, unless they restyle some of those hideus wheels,

LOL. I give up. Literally. If it happens it happens.
Right now I am just focused on keeping my family safe.
Another concern is if your dealer goes under you will loose your deposit unless it was put into some kind of impound account. Some dealers may not be able to weather the fallout. And you will probably loose your car (if you still care) although it probably won't be hard to find another one at that point.

Historically, you would not be price protected. Obviously the current situation is an abnormal one.

It would be rare. The dealers are not capitalized on just a few dollars. It has happened before but most often there are people with funds standing by to take over.
So, the union wants all the car companies to shut down for 2 weeks. And I believe GM shuts down annually for the first 2 weeks of July. So, why not just exchange the 2 weeks in July for 2 weeks now? And start 2021 cars IN 2021. Easy Peazy

If you have a 2020 on order (regardless of the current status), if it does not get built during the 2020 model year, then your dealer is unable to keep their end of the contract (they have contracted to deliver a 2020 Corvette). Therefore, a refund is due to the purchaser. Furthermore, any orders not built when 2020 MY production ends are automatically void. Dealers will probably contact anyone in this situation and offer the choice of getting a refund or putting in an order for a 2021 MY, but how each dealer will handle it is up to them.
Thank you Zymurgy for something I wanted to hear. Would you know if my car were to be cancelled because it would have to be a 2021 model would I lose my place in line and be put after current people who put there deposit for a 2021 model?

That is going to be up to each dealer. IMO the fairest way to sequence the 2020 fall over to 2021 and the existing 2021 orders is by deposit date - regardless of model year.
I would expect to get my 2020 at some point as tpw is next week. If not then factory would be shut for months and we will all have bigger problems than where is my C8. If for some reason i dont get 2020 i will cancel and wait gor GS or Z.
