Looks fantastic! I am planning to do the same. I found the cover on eBay for $391, but it looks slightly different than yours. Did you paint the flag yourself?
Also, besides removing the 6 bolts, what else do you have to do to get the cover lose? I noticed a blue trim removal tool in one of your pictures.

It's 4 bolts and then 1 hose clip that pulls out. If it takes you 10 minutes to do, that's including 5 minutes to drink a beer. I did mine the day my car got home.
I went to inspect my C8 at MacMulkin yesterday (Thursday). They had already installed the red engine cover. They removed the original black cover, boxed it up and stored it in the trunk. I'm probably going to have the black one painted "Cortez Silver", (a 1969 Camaro / Corvette color) and swap them around for different looks.
