While I'm not a fan of all of Street Speed 717's antics, I actually thought his new Soul Performance cat/exhaust system sounded awesome. Loud, but awesome.
I am not either especially him thinking he owns the highways of PA to do whatever he wants on them. I have a friend who is a trooper in PA who has told me many a time if he see's him, well it ain't going to be pretty (if he is breaking the law at the time)
Stock cars are boring. Base model vettes aren't particularly quick anymore. In a world where 1000HP doesn't mean what it used to, I'm glad we have tons of people modding Vettes. Hell, even the DSC controller on the C7Z made the car 10x better.

0-60 in 3.0 is not quick ?!?!? what planet did you grow up on ?

I remember when people could not get 1,000 HP out of a supercharged big lock and have it last 10K miles.

the new "normal" is a 0-60 .of 2.5 A l@rd @$$ tesla will spank you as will many other attainable benchmark cars from Pooch and others.
the vette stepped up big time by getting under 3 with less hp and $ to get there
by no means is the car "fast" above 100 pulling a 122 quarter. Nice platform, needs more cowbell.
Yes, I still play with big blocks but you only "need them" way above that 1k level and a lil ol truck block is all you need now.
Cheaper too. LS7 heads outflow the base big block stuff and the parts are much more exotic out of the box than the old fat block ever dreamed of
ti valves, rods, lightweight valve train, high flow heads, forged crank, ect..... Progress marches on.

who gives a damn about 0-60? It’s the stupidest metric that exists. 1/4 mile time? Sure! I don’t give a **** about what a mfr gets 0-60 on a prepped surface. How often do we do 0-60 times?

Some of these Youtubers are in for a very rude awakening. Back in the last big recession YouTube and Facebook ad revenue dried up and advertisers sat it out or paid way less for ads.. It was an advertisers buyers market.
My guess is that if this pandemic is as big as some think these youtubers could expect ad revenue to drop 30-70%.
It's all for the views and YT monetization. I do wish I could have black circular tips on my exhaust like that Magnaflow setup. I'd like to swap the tips out.
You can paint your tips... I did it on my c7 before there were any options available. Tape off, retape, prep the tips, high temp rattle can with patience and layers.
Looked great. 3 yrs later still looked good when I sold it
I’m not sure if this has been posted elsewhere on the forum, but this video from Fasterproms shows how much potential the LT2 has and how it compares to the LT1. Jeremy, the guy filming, has decades of experience tuning Chevy small-blocks, so he knows exactly how these engines behave.
He thinks that porting or replacing the intake will be very effective because of how much room there is for longer runners, and the throttle body is apparently the same as the C7, so upping its size will also help a lot. There’s also a lot of tuning potential with the engine, once you crack the ECU. Even tuning a stock C8 will net decent gains.
If LT1 cams work in the LT2, there could be 600whp C8s soon.
I think TJ is a car guy who picked (created!) the right career choice. Although some of his builds are not my style, I love what Rich and the team at Magnaflow did on the C8. Rich / Magnaflow has been doing this locally for 20+ years. I love that TJ redeye'd to the east coast and drove the car back in a few days, jumped on R&D, etc.
Not a fan of the other guy who just made the C8 loud / sound like **** for pure views and to say "OMG the loudest C8 eVAR!"
We really appreciate the words! TJs been a real mvp throughout the process.

Thank you for putting that clarification out there on our behalf.
That is correct; this is a prototype system and not necessarily reflective of the final production system that will come to market. We'd also like to point out that even during track use, our current pipe profiles and design do not require additional shielding. The more “open system” quickly dissipates unwanted heat even in the track tested hot laps we subjected TJ’s car to at Thermal raceway. The only issue we encountered was the effect of heat on the carbon fiber tips, which we are addressing.
That being said, we think it's great that YouTube personalities are jumping straight into modifying. It creates entertaining content, but also knowledge and experience the rest of the community can learn from and apply without needing to experiment on your own personal cars.

Just got to ask? As some of us are still waiting for our C8s... What do you think of all the YouTube internet cowboys and all their rush to be first... Could name them, but you probably know who they are. First with Nitrous, decats, modified exhausts, wraps, etc? Over the top or not? do they represent the demographic? Just have to think there may be a lack of maturity out there... Or are they just trying to boost their channel views and make some money? Flame suite is on...

I would hazard a guess that the heat dissipation requirements of a front engine exhaust system are vastly different from those of a tightly packaged mid engine exhaust.

What about when is stopped in traffic on a thruway for 45 minutes?
It’s as simple as don’t click if you’re not interested. I am a corvette guy at heart, so whatever channel has corvettes I’ll probably check out. I come equipped with a strong OEM filter to look through the nonsense and retain what’s needed. GM invited several youtubers for a reason. How many of them were buying McLarens a while ago? Then it was the hellcats, now it’s the C8’s turn. They will sell a ton load of them with the help of these guys, like it or not.
No matter how much of a "car guy or girl" they say they are, they will jump on the next hot thing in a heartbeat to keep the clicks coming. This is perfectly fine and more power to them, but I do not view them in the same realm of enthusiasts as people who truly love cars, because everything is about making money off their "enthusiasm". It comes off as fake and even if they are 100% really into something, the self promotion cheapens it. I watch them and don't feel bad for wasted clicks as I could find some tidbit of info entertaining or informative, but I also do not find most of these YT personalities all that interesting.
As for the rush to be the first at anything, I just laugh because all I have seen from the YT personalities are a bunch of parts hacked together as fast as possible to also be first to market by companies I would never even consider in the first place. Magnaflow? Maybe if I was driving a late 90's TransAm. For a Vette its Corsa, or Akra, or perhaps something from Capristo if they deem the C8 worthy of their attention. As for wheels, there is two options HRE or Forgeline, everything else I have seen is basically cheap versions of those brands. Nothing wrong with buying them, but I just can't bring myself to not buy the real thing. This is snobbish of me, I know, its just how I am. Cars are the only luxury item I spend money on for myself, so I don't cry about springing money for the nice parts when I can.
All that said, I find the channels of shops like LG Motorsports and the like far more interesting, because they go for firsts but also source some serious performance options or manufacture what they need in house. Those channels are far cooler than having some YT kid try to act like they have an actual understanding of what a shop is building for their shiny new click attracting car.

We are currently testing the new system under all driving conditions.
