These vettes look like they should have flip up doors, wonder how long it will be before someone makes a kit for them? I think they would be cool on these corvettes. I wouldn’t be surprised if GM makes them an option in future years.
This image gets posted a lot here, but scissor doors are cool. Really depends on the body style of the car. Sure it doesn't look all that good on a Civic, but if the car has the right body lines it looks great. For the C8? I'm not too sure, but if it gets a wider body it might start looking a bit more like an Aventador.
No, they really aren’t. On anything other than a Lambo (or a Delorian) they look like spinners and that peel and stick chrome nonsense available at Pep Boys. To easy his own.

Then you are alone, because I’d be SHOCKED AS HELL if they ever came from the factory like that.
Flip-up doors (of gull-wing or Lamborghini style) are heavier and have certain situations where you have more difficulty getting out of a car damaged in a wreck.
Tadge doesn't like them. As long as he's at the helm, I doubt you'll see them from the factory.
^^^ This....you complainers have NOTHING to worry about.
Non-traditional opening doors give a car an "exotic" feel. I would have loved to see the C8 get some kind of exotic door. However, look at Bugatti-that is a hyper car with traditional doors!
All that matters is making ingress and egress easier at a reasonable cost. The C8 doors traverse a lot of space when opened. Scissor doors might well have been a good design feature.
At this point the horse has left the barn; I certainly would not spend a penny to retrofit them...
The Lambo style doors of the early 2000s are pure ****. Those Koenigsegg dihedral doors though...hrnnngh...I want those. Fully opens and completely clears the doorway, takes up about 18" from the side of the car...no scuffs on door lowers...I mean it's the perfect car door.
