Like many of you, I have been on the hunt for a C8 for some time now. I have noticed on some build sheets an option code listed as OAR: Evaluation Vehicle. Does anyone have a clue what this means? Are these pre production builds or CTF cars? Dealer Demos? Any insight is sincerely appreciated.
Ah, appears to be a pre production car then. FWIW, the dealer said "the vehicle was sent to Milford for evaluation". As much as I'd love an early car, sounds like added risk I'd prefer not to take. He is selling at sticker though - if anyone is interested the dealer is Masse in Rhode Island. Its an Orange 2LT Z51.
I don't think there is any added risk to purchasing a CTF car vs. a production car. If anything, they got more attention during the assembly process than regular production vehicles. They were all built to production specs.
There were quite a few CTFs built in February that were never driven. The last 5 digits of the VIN would give us an idea if this was truly a CTF that was test driven or if it was one of these later CTFs that are being sent to dealers.

Yep, definitely a CTF car per the VIN, and a very late one at that, so likely never driven for evaluation purposes. I'm a little surprised at the sequence number (#617). GM previously said they built about 500 of these cars.

I think there are about 700 total CTFs. About 500 were the number that were "practice builds" for the factory and were never used as actual test fleet vehicles.
I think I found another late CTF for sale. They are charging 10k over MSRP though. 2LT Sebring orange.1G1Y72D48L5000660. This is a pre production correct? Do you think that helps with negotiation back down to MSRP?

Yes, that is one of the late CTF builds, never driven as a test vehicle. You can try to use that fact as a negotiation tool, but don't expect to actually get any concession because of it.

They are whoring it out to the highest bidder. It should be on Ebay soon.
