He talked about understeer but to me he had an awful lot of throttle on oversteer on exit as he was constantly trying to catch it. Hard to tell if he was pinching it on exit with a lot of throttle. Good job though.
Main issue on exit is he did not ease off on the steering as he fed in the throttle, quick hands though so sensitive butt.
Very nice! The driver of the GT tried to load up the C8 in the curves so he could pull lengths on the straights. He didn’t want that C8 to pass him and was focused intensely on making sure it stayed in his rear view. I’d love to see the kid get a clean shot at the GT.
Everyone that's tracked the C8 has come to the same conclusion. The car NEEDS CUP 2s to fully exploit Its chassis. This is far from the first tracked C8.
Great video. Thanks Tarantula and good to read the comments from driver on the video. Race or not race (semi-race...) to me it's obvious the base car is already plenty track capable.
[QUOTE=the lark;1601267759]This guy will fool you if you watch his videos. He comes off like a geek.
But he isn’t, he drove the hell out of that c8. He beat everyone on that track.
How about that c7 flying off the track.[/QUOTE
Totally agree and he has the ***** to drive his unlike the his critics on the forum who are waxers.
I don't how hard the GT3 was pushing, but sure looks like a ZO6 C8 would probably out run it... good vid, thanks for posting.
With all due respect, you have seen what the GT3rs('s) can do have you not?
That kid was driving near the razor's edge and if you watched at the end, he is not afraid to wreck that car and is too young to feel mortality. God bless him.
But even a near equal driver in both cars you wouldn't sniff a GT3rs in a C8.
Shame they won't make a pure track version no sound deadening lightweight charge 10k more for it and it would fly off the lot these days. Way different world than when the FRC came out prior to Z06.

FRCs prior to Z06 were cool but to be fair they never passed 10% of total sales so they really never flew off the lots....

Having driven several mid engine cars on a road course , mid engine cars tend to have a significant amount of understeer . the C8 I drove seemed to be very refined . You'll still get some understeer . but your perspective will be different ( your feel ) driver is several inches forward ( away from the center of turn / center of gravity ) and this is exasperated by the de polarization of the cars mass ( think of a dumb bell vs a bowling ball ) . nice video . kid is a good wheel man .

That young man is having a blast with that car. Route 66, Pike's Peak, Willow Springs track time. He did a great job. Not exactly Randy P lines on the track but he did very well. Good for him
