Default C8 convertibles

Not shocking news but an article in today’s GM Authority newsletter indicates that it is “believed” that the first C8 convertibles will be 2021 models. Makes sense, only 2,700 coupes built, large backlog of coupes yet to be built, and no plant re-opening date in sight. For buyers with a convertible order that live in a snow state like me this is probably for the best anyway. Good luck to the many that are waiting for a 2020 coupe. Stay healthy everyone.

Don't be surprise if you get a breaking news response from someone on this forum.

After listening to Kai's talk last week, here are my thoughts regarding the HTS.... oh, and my TPW was supposed to be this week until they all disappeared. The start up at BG is going to be sloooow! Employee 'social distance' training, employee 're-orientation' training, vendor/supplier issues. etc. The 'vert' start up was certainly going to slow things up anyway. Add supplier issues for the unique parts needed to assemble a HTC and you even further complicate the process.

While I'm certainly not voting for a delay, I think it's going to be hard to avoid. I'm taking comfort in the fact that no matter what happens I'll be getting a fairly early HTC no matter if it's a late 2020 or an early 2021.

In the mean time Kai is driving a yellow HTC around Bowling Green.... and making me really jealous!

Personally I would prefer it 2021. I don't mind waiting a little bit.

I figured late august delivery now for the first of them. They need to catch up on delivering as many coupes as they can and having convertibles in the line will slow them down.

They've made like 2800 of them so far. The original plan for this date (before the strike) was probably 10 times that by this date. They need to start cranking them out.

Any idea how many HTCs were already at 3000 or beyond / had a TPW? Will be interesting to see what this does to late TPW coupes.

As a current C7 GS owner and a future C8 convertible owner who previously had a 04.13 target production week, I hope this is inaccurate information, but it seems logical. Waiting for the official GM announcement before I become overly concerned.

I hope you are right. Unfortunately my order is one of the many at 3000. Your convertible order appears to be very similar to mine. Please post a picture if you get it. Good luck.

On April 2, 2019, Maldonado-Passage was convicted on two counts of murder for hire, eight violations of the Lacey Act, and nine violations of the Endangered Species Act.[14][2] On January 22, 2020, he was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison.[19] As of March 2020, he is incarcerated at FMC Fort Worth. Joe Exotic is openly gay. He has referred to numerous partners as his husbands despite not being legally married.

The Chevrolet website no long shows the 2020 Corvette convertible. You can not even build one. I have a vert on order setting at 3000. If I have to wait till 2021 for my order to be built I will probably wait for the 2022 Z06.

I guess that means those of us with coupes at 3,000 or higher will have a great chance of getting a 2020...that is assuming production begins again in May.
