Hoping you guys get your cars soon...I've enjoyed seeing the photos. Thanks all.
FWIW, I contacted my dealer on March 18th (the day GM announced the closure of Bowling Green and the rest of their assembly plants), requesting that they cancel my order and refund my deposit. My order was at 3000. It took about a week, but I did get my deposit refunded. It's all about the person you are working with at your dealer.

Dealer must want the car for the lot.

Guys these cars are selling for a premium, does it make sense to cancel an order? Asking for a friend.

At this point in time the dealer can not say the car will or won't be built. Up until they have confirmation that it won't they can more than likely hold on to your deposit. Unfortunately I think you're simply going to have to wait. On the bright side the $1200 stimulus check should get you by.....

You need to talk with your sale person and the GM of your dealership to find out how they handle the cancellations. In addition to the refund that should be no problem at all, you’ll want to find out how they are handling the que for 2021 orders. They have probably accepted deposits for 2021 orders, so if you want to order a 2021, does your 2020 order will guarantee you move to the head of the line or do you fall behind those 2021 deposits.

Once 2021 orders are open, customers with oldest deposits will get priority regardless of whether originally for 2020 or 2021 MY.

You have no way to definitively know that. How the progression is handled will be the sole decision of the respective dealers. There is no guarantee it will be done what may well be the right way.

Kerbeck is doing it that way.

I have it in writing.

That’s the fair way to handle the situation in my opinion.

Same here. I was thinking about cancelling my Order but it moved up to 3000 the day they announced the Plant closing, a coincidence I'm sure.

Now my only issue is hoping the Dealership doesn't go BK and I have to go to Court to try and get my Deposit back.

I am still thinking that my 2020 HTC Order will end up being a 2021 Model. If so, I will add the stand alone Mag Ride if in fact it is offered since I didn't go with the Z51 this time around. I loved the Mag Ride on my Z51 equipped 2014 Coupe.

I"m at 3000 for my HTC and the dealer has $5000.00 of my money for deposit. It is a multi brand dealership, but not that large and they laid off 120 folks about 3 weeks ago. I only used them because the General Manager is a cousin of my brother in law and I wanted to give him the business since I know him. I didn't mind the large deposit as I knew they didn't sell many vettes and did not want anyone feeling anxious. Of course, at that time I was expecting a June delivery as indicated to the dealer from his GM rep. Now, I'm going to want a little something thrown in as I'm not making any interest on the money (1.7% at my bank) and it certainly is helping them. Not much. Maybe a discount on a service or something. Just have to hope they can weather the storm. Cuomo has extended the shutdown another 4 weeks until May 15. Who knows if it will be extended again. These are certainly strange days. As Bob Dylan said, "The times. They are a changing!".

Good luck with that, 1.7 is 85 bucks a year.

That's 85 bucks of service that I want. It's a cheap loan for the dealership and I'm pretty sure every dollar is counting right now. Yes, it's possible that by the time I get a vehicle, they could have the use of that money for a year.

Got refund from my dealer in FL with no explanation and ordered a 2019 GS from MacMulkin with a nice discount till dust settles and bugs worked out . Will check out C8 widebody when they come out. Just a car.

We offer deposit back no questions asked if you are still at 1100, They can stay the course at their original priority if they want a 2021. All our other orders are at 3000 and two at 3400. All those people so far want to stay the course and will be at their original priority if they have too go to a 2021. All new deposits for 2021 go behind any 2020 orders that don"t get built. Just be fair, that is all the customer ask for.

I would think they should give you your refund back if you're not going to get a 2020

You do realize that in most states mixing deposit funds on future product and working capitol is just a little outside the law?

No guarantees & the last thing a dealer will want to do is hand out money they have had for a while when they are not selling that many cars. Good luck.

Once 2020 orders are no longer able to be fulfilled by GM, 2021 orders should be prioritized based on the oldest deposits.

That is the fair thing to do.

Interesting thought. I wonder how many who were buying C8's qualify for the stimulus check. I did not.
