With the top off, what is the level of buffeting and noise at 40 mph, 50, 60, 70 and over, with front and lateral wind? I didn't saw a video about that important question. Are there any? Thank you.
I’m curious about that as well. Before any cars were delivered to customers there was lots of talk here about how much buffeting there is on previous generations and speculation about whether or not it would be any better in the C8. I really haven’t read anything about it since C8 started showing up.
I would like a Youtuber do a video (camera filming the driver) with glass up and down with hair free (better if long!) at different speed, different wind direction. Thank you.
It wouldn't be subjective if we can " ear and see" instead of comments (yes subjective). In the Jay Leno video with Tadj we saw it for the convertible. I think that it would generate many clicks!
I would think it’s better than the C7 since you have glass behind you instead of the rear hatch area to allow air to buffet. But I’m not an expert, only guessing.
It's comparable to previous generations, mine's had the top off almost the entire time it's been in my possession. No worse than normal up to about 60-65, but higher speeds you need to put the windows up. Tip- Just like my C7, if you leave the windows about 1/2 inch BELOW all the way up, it actually makes the buffeting less noticeable.
I may or may not have been up to 125 or so with the top out. In Mexico. Closed course.

Aftermarket should try to create a flip down/hinged window between the cabin and the engine compartment, that lowers above a certain speed (or manually push/pull).
Air can then escape through this window, and eventually exit through the rear glass and rear bumper, which already has vents. Reducing buffeting.

I recall back in 1992 when my buddy bought a new Convertible Vette, we were on the highway and there was absolutely no wind sound or buffeting with the top down. I've owned many other make convertibles since that ride, but never found one that was as quiet as his car. I think the seats were so low to the floor, the wind blew right over my head.

The targa top is very important for GM. To sell many corvettes, it was a must have cacacteristic. I think the vast majority of coupe owners want to know how it compare to the vert for wind buffeting and noise. Why at that time, didn't we saw a video from a Youtuber ?
