So I went in to order and put down a deposit for a convertible.. just as I was finishing up my salesman said a someone cancelled their order and the one in stock now was available. so, I bought it. Right place, right time, right minute... right second. There was 4 people next in line to purchase had I said no. 3LT NON z51 (have a 2011 ZR1 so I didn't care about the Z51) I do like it, but will still look into a convertible. What is crazy is the dealers marking up what they have in stock and the ebayer's asking crazy amounts. Not bashing, just find it wild. I paid MSRP $75,245 and received $500 off. Not to bad, and it was the day before the shut down.
Impressions:
I find the car to be more refined, very comfortable..and a bit boring. Let me explain this. I really enjoy shifting, I feel fortunate to be able to have the Zr1 for that. I haven't really used the paddles as of yet. I will be returning to Ron Fellows with hopes to get a great feel and better understanding with them. I am just shy of 2K miles and have had no issues.. other than the paint, which really does not bother me. I recently had my Z ceramic coated and he took a look at the C8 and picked out many...many imperfections with the paint, I was glad I didn't have black. The car brings people out everywhere, yes even through the current pandemic. I have no problems showing and allowing people to check it out as i would be doing the same.
Congrats! You obviously have the best of both worlds with the ZR1 in your stable.
I love the look of the C8, but the lack of a manual tranny is a deal breaker. I would find it more than a bit boring...
Good luck with your new ride.
Very nice looking C8....the boring aspect is disturbing to hear for me since I've been only driving Lotus cars (manual) for the last 15 years (Elise R, Exige S, Evora NA, Evora 400)

Nice dude! Look for a similar post from me tomorrow after I pick up my C8 and park it next to my C7Z. Not parting with my C7Z any time soon. Poor Tesla has to sit outside now.
