So i found a dealer that has a c8 status 3300 tpw date of 3/23/20 (obviously late). But the car was a cancel and not the color i wanted, its white, i wanted orange. Its not the color interior i wanted, its black 3lt, i was going to get tan 2lt. Still, it is (almost) available, and at msrp (supposedly)
i was wanting a convertible, but god knows when i would be seeing that, so do i jump on this car? I know it is still not here, but way closer than my 1100 status.
white is a close 2nd choice for me, this one does not have the z51 but does have the perf exhaust.
i love the orange, but am thinking id rather have the car now, or in a few months, than next year, when my 1100 might be ready. It is also about 6 k less than the one i built.
realistically, assuming the plants open in 3 weeks, do you think a 3300 status car will be here for summer? Would you wait? Or jump on this? (Provided the dealer is not fos)
I would suggest waiting until the plant opens back up. There will be far more cars on the market, mark ups will reduce significantly. No reason to lock yourself into a car that has no definite build date if its not exactly what you want.
well for ME....and that me.....I ordered the car I WANT....EXACTLY WHAT I WANT....I personally wouldn't settle for anything less.....which is what you would be doing.
At 1100 Status.....it's possible you will not get a 2020....and will get bumped to a 2021. Nobody is saying for sure, but when I asked the Corvette Concierge yesterday if the rumors are true that the 3000 status cars are the only 2020's that are going to be built....she couldn't say for sure....but that's definitely being discussed.....but no decisions are going to be made for sure until they know when the factory will re-open and they get an idea of how many cars they can build per day/week etc.
I would wait. Why not buy exactly what you want? Once this hysteria is over, I wouldn't think you would want to be stuck with something other than your first choice!

Aquarian , Today 08:45 AM
According to Corvette concierge as of 3/18 the "decision was made to suspend MY20" any unit at 3000 or above will be produced for 2020..any others will have to be reordered as 2021. HOWEVER there is not pricing as of yet also its not available to spec out in GM Autobook as of this moment..

I would wait as I order a car because I get exactly what I want and not have to take the best I can find on the lot. However, it is your choice. Do not take something less than you want just to get something.
We don’t know and the concierges don’t either. My convertible went to 3000 in a January and had a TPW of 4/6. Whether it will be built between now and end of 2020 production in August will depend on when the plant starts up, the status of parts and parts suppliers,(including the convertible mechanism) and the decisions the plant makes about how best to proceed with confirmed orders.
in Kai Spande’s interview of a couple weeks ago he seemed to be saying that he didn’t know if the convertible would be produced when the plant restarted. Was he being cautious or was GM thinking about deferring the convertible? Who knows.
Thank you all for the info, while i do not totally agree, even thiugh the carvwas not exactly what i was looking for, i would have been happy to buy it. The only thing i did not care for was it had the color matching painted trim option. I did not like that option with the qhite, it lost all the white and black contrast.
that said, i spoke to the dealer today and it is still available at 3300 status. If anyone is interested, please pm me i will get you the dealer info.
here is the car from the gm build site... the car is beautiful, i just prefer the black trim to the painted...
