Thanks. Yep it's a non uniform shape. In fact GM appears to have reverted to the C6 and prior Vette (and other GM car measurements) to get to the total 12.6 CF they quite for the C8. I'll explain:

For the C6 and prior Vette storage capacity GM used a measurement method that essentially defined the amount of ping pong ***** could be stored, measure in cubic feet. For the C7 (and other cars starting that year) they used a method defined by SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers - spec J1100) that some companies were using BUT not GM. So the 22.4 CF in the C6 went to 15 CF in the C7. Now the C7 was slightly less BUT NOT THAT MUCH. In fact my wife had a CTS Caddy that the truck did not change and the percent difference in that year was about the same as the C6 to C7 Vette!

So GM now officially quotes in their private docs (see below) 9.1 CF SAE and 12.6 usable space. So it appears the proper comparison would be to a C6 coupe OR 12.6 for the C8 versus 22.4 CF for the C6 or about half! So the numbers quoted in brochures of 12.6 CF Frunk/Trunk versus 15 CF for the C7 are really NOT apples to apples.

Yep can hold 2 sets of golf clubs in the truck but have to be soft sided! Now, we can fit the soft side, rolling duffels we take on cruises (because collapsed they store empty under the bed) but hard side large luggage storage is limited (as are many things that can be sored in a C6 or C7 Vette Coupe!)

Pic forum member took at an early GM C8 intro as a spec book for GM participants.

JerryU (or anyone who can help) ... I thought that I understood the frunk dimension ... but no ... looking at the pizza box.

The depth 23" top and 18" bottom refers to 1) the top to bottom measurement or 2) the front to back measurement?
The height 15" top & 11 " bottom refers to 1) the front to back measurement or 2) the top to bottom measurement?

I think the answer is 1) & 1) but I would like confirmation.

I made those measurements. Depth refers to front to back. The height could be worded better BUT there is a deep section at the front and it is 15 inches. It tapers and the shallowest height is 11 inches. I have a tool bag in that lower recess and that is about all that fits. I do have to store groceries in the Frunk as the Truck is too warm. I manage to stuff bags on top of the tool bag.

Any "heavy shopping" we take the wife's SUV! Have a part time internet business and with my C6 could bring my largest box to FedEx, 18" X 18" X 16". With my C7s to take the large box, had to bring the box flat and several parts separate and put together at FedEx. Now have to wait for the wife's SUV to be free! Did take my one spool box 18" X 18" X 8" box using the passenger seat!

Vettes have been my DD mostly from 1988. Recall carrying 8 foot long 2X4s when building our current home. Can't do that anymore!

Just sold my Camaro ZL1 Convertible which had a ridiculously small rear trunk and an unusable back seat for passengers. Yes, technically you can put stuff in the back seat, but when carrying things of value (golf clubs / shotguns)I don’t want them “out in the open.”

I test drove a C8 at CarMax and the trunk alone is massive for the sports car segment. As someone said, it’s not an SUV (and i have one when i need one) but for its overall size it has a mountain of usable space between the trunk and frunk. The goal for me is golf clubs / or gun case and range bag which it can easily store securely in the trunk WITH the convertible top down. That’s amazing.

JerryU ... and I appreciate the measurements you did ... they are by far the best I have found.

Back on the TRUNK ...
So I mocked up the trunk from the measurements. Rather than me explaining what I am doing (probably incorrectly) how many inches are from the bottom of the trunk to the top of the trunk. And if you know, will it fit an airline carryon (mine are 14-16" in this dimension)?

My measurements (made with a ruler BUT +/- say 15.7". However you can put it in at an angle like the roof. That is ~25 inches at the center. Should be no problem!

FWIW, we made a full-boat shopping spree at Sams Club, 2 cases of bottled water and a bunch of other groceries/sundries and it all fit! I was impressed!

I am trying to figure out if my wifes wheelchair will fit in a C8 and was wondering if I could get some assistance?
The main concern is the wheels (which pop off the chair). They are a 26" diameter wheel. I wonder if they would somehow fit in the rear truck? Thoughts?

These dementions may help. The Trunk height is only 15.7 inches. Don't see how 26 inches wheels can ft.

Thanks Jerry! Ya, I wasn't sure if there was a feasible way that someone with a C8 could see, like leaning the wheels back in the truck or something? Thank you for the quick reply!

Just checked Frunk and Trunk with a yardstick. Might make one 25 but not 26 or for sure two as only the center in the Trunk has the max debt when placed on an angle.

Just googled and there are 22 and 23 inch wheels. Also checked for light weight wheel chair and this one weights 19lbs with 23 inch wheels BUT looks too wide folded to fit:
