Default C8 side vent removal

Anyone know how easily the side vent pieces and be removed? Ive seen people wrap them but it's unclear if they just wrap them on the car or take them off.

Service manual says the whole quarter panel must be removed to then remove the vent trim. Appears the 4 nuts holding them in place are not all accessible without doing so.

Hopefully someone who wraps can chime in.

Let's hope that's not the case because that's terrible. I'm trying to paint those vent pieces.

Default Hmm?

Look for post about a guy who wrapped his vent trim with matte black. In the thread, he says it cost him $400 and took several hours. Suggesting they were not removed, but wrapped in situ. Which makes sense to me. Amazing what a good wrapper can do with film and an Exacto. And no not Kanye West.

I believe they are 4 10mm nuts and you can feel them on the underside of the vent while the quarter panel is in place. check that out at Carlisle. I had a video of it and I cant find it now.

The problem is the door handle portion requires the interior door panel to be removed as those nuts are on the back side of the door.

At 5:50 in this video you can see what I'm saying about removing them. Easy for big part. Door panels aren't bad but some people would be uncomfortable without a video tutorial and I understand that.
