Default Quality Control hold

I’m currently at 3400 status and was wondering if anyone knew how long the holds would be for the next batch of Corvettes coming off the line next week...Quality hold for a week?? Shipped right out after they are built??? Holds for a month a longer like the first ones???

When I asked this question, I was told by the membership, no automatic QC hold (like when the line first started in February) any more unless there is a problem discovered with the vehicle. I would think they would have some considering shutdown for 2 months. Many manufacturing facilities have "some" checks after a long shutdown. It's not for design checks, it's for assembly line checks.

Why would they have a quality control. That’s only for new production vehicles. The c8 has not been in that category since February of this year. The cars they are making now already passed the original hold process.

Ok thanks so much, I’m just waiting and preparing myself to see my “supercar” 😊

O ok, I didn’t know how they were planning on going after the restart...yea it’ll be great for them to put my car right on the truck as soon as it leaves the assembly line 😊😊 I would be totally satisfied

The QC hold is more to find out if something pops up from cars currently on the road that could be handled at the factory level much easier and more efficiently. Also if any software updates can be done. I would think QC hold would be for only a day or two. Unless it's museum delivery, which could be for two weeks.

Sounds great, yea mine will be shipped to the dealer so it’s been a long waiting game so far...guess a couple more weeks can’t hurt

GM/Chevy has a huge incentive to release cars to shipping as soon as possible. Then they can invoice them to dealers. That's how they get revenue.

I doubt your car is going to be held up for "quality control." Your car is far more likely to be held up for regional shipping purposes. It's often part of a group number and the group gets shipped to a single location.
