Default C8 Check Engine code after burnout/donut/etc...

Hey there C8 owners! So I've seen plenty of videos and read plenty of threads with people saying that doing burnouts or donuts or other hard driving have had their check engine light pop on afterwards. However, I haven't seen anyone actually bother to hook up a scanner and find out what code(s) are actually thrown. Everyone I've seen just goes, "Well I left it overnight and the next day the code was gone so it's fine" and doesn't actually dig any further. So hopefully someone here can satisfy my curiosity. What code is actually being thrown here? Has anyone actually tracked down the cause yet?

Thanks all!

I think it's the HAI light that goes off.

You need to do the track overfill of the DCT for high G use like donuts. I understand why GM decided to go with standard fill, but it seems it would have been better to design the DCT to be able to handle all use scenarios with the factory-spec fluid levels.

HAI light? Here's a screenshot from one random video, showing the check engine. Are they the same thing?

Hahaha. I should've figured it'd be a gotcha.

Anyway while I generally agree since it's happening to people who are thrashing, I'm more interested in the actual code being triggered and the actual cause. Thank you Tool Hoarder for the possible cause. Now just need someone who's had this code and actually determined what it was to chime in.

It has to do with the wheel speed sensors, when the computer reads different speed readings from the front wheels a the abs send a trouble code and the check engine light come on

I was hoping you would get it if you pronounced it as hi-light.

At this point honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if GM just starts filling them to track use capacity seeing as the additional 2 quarts does not need to be removed if its added.

That seems amazing to me. On the C4, the Bosch ABS throws the ABS light and takes a snapshot if a single wheel is 8 MPH or more out of range of the other three, or if three are within 3 MPH and one is 5 MPH. There's no fault condition listed for two wheels, only 1 or 3. Which makes sense.

I'm shocked that on the C8 they would throw an ABS fault just because the rears are spinning faster than the fronts on a RWD sports car.

Doubt it... 2 quarts of expensive fluid per car and it decreased the fuel economy slightly. One can wish though.

Yeah, even if they buy it for $15 a quart (lists for $42.90) and they did just 50,000 cars that would be $1.5 million.

Is it easy to top it up DIY or, will it require a dealership visit?
