The cars are not really in the same league or same price. With discounts completely loaded Supra's are $46-48K right now. With about $10-15K in mods the Supra is proving to be a real beast though and a sub 10 second 1/4 mile car. The engine is a beast with tons of tuning potential (gotta love twin turbos). I think we will see sub 9 second Supra's soon.

DItto... it's a single twin scroll in the Supra's B58 engine (not two turbos as in S58 engine).
As for the video, would have been nice to see the better driver in the slower car... But if it were mine, no way that i'm giving my C8 to a guy who's only claim to fame is crashing his first Supra.
Your right, it's a twin scroll single turbo, I stand corrected. I see people getting 600-700whp and it looks like just with fuel conversion (E-85) and a larger turbo. High 9's low 10's with mods for a car in this price range is a good bargain.
I went and looked at one in person when they launched and it did not think it is worth the price ($57K for launch edition). Now those same cars are selling to $8-11K under MSRP, which makes it a heck of a bargain for a fairly light RWD sports car.
The styling is definitely polarizing but it looked better to me in person than in pictures. I think for under $50K it's a solid car. But if you have the budget for a $60-80K is car the C8 makes more sense.
It is also the ugliest sports car that has come to market in decades, YUK!
Looks are subjective. In my eyes, the Vette needs more re-styling compared to the Supra, especially after seeing both in person a couple times now.
What hurts the Supra is the Camaro SS and SS 1LE. Same if not slightly better performance at less price, no BMW based electronics/powertrain to have issues with, and a more useable car overall.
Camaro is quite the weapon. NA LT1 6.2 V8, 10 speed auto or the tried and true Tremec TR6060, eLSD on the 1LE, magnetic ride control on the 1LE standard (available on SS), PTM, launch control, etc. All for on a 1SS 1LE for less than $45,000 and that isn't including discounts or leftover fire sale cars.

The Supra is the biggest abomination to hit the market in a long time. We waited 20 years for a BMW with a Toyota body smushed on it. The car was supposed to be the FT-1... then they decided to squish it onto a Z4 chassis and ended up with hot garbage. They're already giving $3,500 off and 0% to try and move them.
^^^^
Indeed. Think about the poor guys that just HAD to be the first on the block with a Supra ....$10K over (or more) and a year later they're wheelin' and dealin'
And Toyota should have never shown the FT-1....EVERYONE expected the new Supra to look just like it

You mean like some C8 owners who are paying $40K+ over MSRP for a C8? You don't think Chevy dealers won't be wheeling and dealing C8's once supply catches up with demand?
People pay markup all the time. Raptors, GT350/500, Z28 , etc..

Fair point with the FT1, a decent amount of the design did end up on the car, but, if I wanted a mid/late 2000's generic looking Ferrari, I'd buy the Ferrari (this is in reference to the C8 of course).
C8 is a great car, and I will be ordering one for 2021 or 2022, but it doesn't "wow" me with the design. Neither does the Supra, but the Supra edges it out for me.
Again. Looks are subjective. You can "hahahahahaha" all you want. We could make the same argument of a man's significant other. Yours can be a 10 in your eyes, but a 6 in mine or vise a versa.

I know they do. But the Supra thing blew up in everyone's face pretty quickly.
Just because someone is ASKING $40k over on a C8 doesn't mean that anyone is PAYING $40k over. And a year from now, I will bet you money that there won't be ANY C8's going for below sticker along with GM cheap financing.

Exactly, it is amazing how some thick heads see these absurd asking prices and just assume that someone is paying it. I can remember buying an '08 GT500 back in '08 that had a $10,000 "market adjustment" along with the sticker and ended up paying $2,500 under MSRP and then got the $3,000 rebate that the dealer never mentioned. Its all a bunch of BS that only suckers believe or go for.
