Default Rocker Panel Extensions/ Splash Guards

I’m thinking of ordering a C8 and wondering if I should order the Rocker Extensions and the Front and Rear splash guards. Does anyone have these on their corvette and are they functional or do you still get a lot of Stone nicks in the paint?

I ordered the front and rear splash guards for my C8, as I did on my previous C7. They do help!

~ Half the mileage on my C8 has been with the OE small splash guards, the other half with the GM Optional splash guards. The optional ones do work IMO and even stick out a little more than the optional ones I put on my C7.

I put the optional splashguards on my Torch Red C8 when I took delivery. Talked my small dealer into a free install of guards I purchased on-line ahead of vehicle delivery. Had them on my '15 Stingray. They helped there. Really too early to tell if they are needed on the C8. But I think they add a little to the look and they definitely keep mud and debris off the body behind the wheel wells. I think they are a good and relatively inexpensive investment.

I've had the GM splash guards on mine for 2000 miles now and not a single chip.

Buy the splash guards from an online discount parts supplier instead of ordering with the car. You'll save money and they are very easy to install.

Have purchased and received the GM Optional Splash Guards- way before I'll get my C8! Easy install and discounted on the Net.

I'll do what I did with my Grand Sport when I got it home. Change my Z51 Brake pads with low dust ones and when I have the wheels off install the Splash Guards. Don't need the wheels off but easier access. Just use a plastic trim tool and the standard inner fender well sections pop off. Like the C7.

However NOT good enough to protect the rocker panels from my experience with my C7's in our rural area with lots of pebbles in the road. I have already ordered C7 Carbon OEM equivalent side skirts. They should also arrive before my C8!

As Zymurgy says, just plug the GM parts numbers in goggle and you'll get lots of folks selling.

If you purchase with your custom build, does the selling dealer install them as part of the cost?

Yes. They are installed as part of the PDI process at no additional cost.

Installed at delivery RPO is $250 + tax. Buy them from a Forum vendor $130 + tax. EZ to install in maybe 15 minutes including opening a cold one. Need a simple pry tool and a socket. Instructions in the parts bag.

$349. A little overpriced but I like the way they compliment the rest of the carbon flash parts...
