Hey guys, I know July 13th is when we'll find out official 2021 options and pricing, but is there any info on when dealers will be able to turn a deposit into an 1100 thru Workbench and when they'll find out how many 2021 allocations theyll get?
Is it still July 13th?...I thought I read it here or another forum that the date had been pushed back to an August date...but I could be in error...
The picture I've seen says July 13th for order guide, August 20th for HTC SORP, and November 23rd for 2021 SORP, but last I heard the November 23rd date is a moving target, a worse case scenario if they can't meet goals by November 2nd.

OK...you may be correct. It was probably the HTC I was reading about that had the August date..I did read on another forum that the engine plants production was up for the week..which bodes well for the 2nd.shift starting up soon...fingers crossed!!

Same date or unknown/TBD?
Thanks!
The only date that matters is when GM tells the dealers their allocations for the first round of 2021 orders. Then, and only then, dealers can match orders to allocations and submit them. Until GM gives them 2021 allocations, dealers and customers are in limbo land.

Completely agree with you, does it sound like that's going to be July 13th or a later date?

October. Corvette really doesn't know how many 2020s they will build, so until they nail that down, they can't plan the initial 2021 allocations. There is no reason to commit to anything until they have to which will be October. Makes no sense to commit to 2021 allocations this summer.
Bottom line... nobody knows anything definitive about anything going on with GM when it comes to C8 MY2020 production dates or MY2021 order and/or production dates.
Just sit back and relax until GM makes an announcement.

And you have inside information that GM has no plan? I'm sure that they not only have a plan that they are executing to, but that they also have contingency plans in place. Just because you don't know their plans doesn't mean they don't have one.

Mexico just announced that they hit an all time high for Covid 19 and lots of Corvette parts come from Mexico. Corvette has 400 parts suppliers and Covid 19 is now rising in 30 states, but you are sure GM not only has a plan but are executing it too?
What is the evidence of any plan? Production and deliveries are just random and GM is dead silent about everything related to future production and deliveries. There is no plan.
Production is certainly not "random". They have been hitting their maximum capacity for a single shift almost every day since the initial ramp up after the restart. That didn't happen without a plan. GM does not announce future production plans for a specific vehicle. So, that certainly offers no proof that there "is no plan".
What "lots of Corvette parts come from Mexico"? The DCT is made by a Mexico company, but it is made in Michigan.

You have some of the "Funniest" or "Foolish" posts! I tend to think the latter! There are some posters who appear to have no idea of the complexity of manufacturing a product like a car!
I've been supportive of GM NOT Telling us their "plans" and then repeatedly telling us the changes they had to make because of the uncertainties the pandemic has caused. Worse to tell folks what you "plan" knowing it will soon change. (Been There Done That!) If GM has such a "soothsayer," forget telling me when I'll get my C8, just tell me the horse that will win tomorrow's race!
Announced dates are always on a Monday unless Monday is a holiday, as was May 25, so the factory reopened on Tuesday May 26. MY21 SORP November 23 is a Monday. MY 21 order guide July 13 is a Monday. Why would convertible SORP begin on THURSDAY, August 20, a change from Monday, July 13? Makes zero sense. I will be willing to bet money that the start of convertible production will be before August 20.
