Let me start off by saying this is NOT a troll thread. I want to hear some opinions about why the C8 is a better buy than the 2021 Supra.
I realize that the Supra is a BMW made in Graz Austria. The C8 and Supra warranties are the same. My local Toyota dealership is throwing in an additional 5 year unlimited mileage powertrain warranty. The new 2021 has up'd its HP a bit and the 0-60 is 3.9 sec which makes it a tad slower than the C8.
The styling of both cars are obviously completely different but at the same time I like both styles. Supra is more of a throwback style compared to the C8. While MPG is not a big factor the Supra gets considerably better city/highway mileage. The Supra also has a substantially lower price than the C8.
This maybe an apples to oranges comparison, but I'd still like to hear some "civil" opinions. TIA

3.9 seconds 0-60 is quite a bit more than just a "tad" slower than the 2.8 second C8(a time which is confirmed by multiple car magazines and independent tests).
The Supra is so bad that it is actually hard to look at. This abortion is hideous front, rear, and side views.
These things really shape up to be something along the lines of a high school seniors dream car.
Toyota laid an egg with this turd and that is being kind and of course "civil".

3.9 vs 2.9 is way more then a "tad slower". The performance value of the C8 is unbeatable. No question about it.
With $10k into a turbo kit you would have a fast car. But then the brakes and suspension would need $ and work as well.
Really depends which car makes you feel better.
While I have a lot of confidence in Toyota/Lexus vehicles, the decision criteria for me is all in the exterior and interior styling. To me night and day.
So, my opinion is that the Supra is a very good car (I have driven one and they are a hoot to drive). Styling is in the eyes of the beholder, I am not a fan of the Supra's styling (and there are parts of the C8 that can hardly be called beautiful as well). They are very different cars at very different price points, but you can get a Supra NOW.
As far as folks ******* on the Miata, well, that's plain stupid.
And I'm certain that comparing a Miata to the Supra is a WAY bigger stretch than comparing a C8 to a Supra.
PS. My BIG complaint with the Supra is the cabin. It is nicely done but VERY claustrophobic. If you've ever driven a current gen Camaro....well, that's what the Supra feels like
As a C8 owner, I went to a car show and saw a Supra the other day. I have to say it looked pretty cool and I liked the looks a lot. Would I trade my C8 for it? Not in a bazzilion years. bazzilion is a number right?

Well my base model 2013 CTS coupe with a V6 and Auto will do 0-60 in 5.9 seconds so if 1.1 seconds slower (supra vs C8} is only a tad we can say 2 seconds slower is just a little. I would rather drive my CTS with the lowly V6 than a supra, btw I am giving it to my twins that just turned 16. I would buy another used CTS Coupe long before I would even consider a supra, C8 it isn't even a comparable talk.
I've only bought Toyota for years because daily drivers need to be ultra reliable and have low TCO. However, when it came to buying my toy...Corvette all the way. Granted I went C7 ZR1, but the new Supra didn't stand a chance even against a stripped down C8. YMMV.

The 382 hp is a 3.0L Twin-Scroll Single-Turbo DOHC 24-Valve Inline 6-Cylinder. I'm guessing you're talking about replacing the existing turbo and retuning? Since I doubt I'll do much tracking, other than the Ron Fellows school that I'm planning on taking I probably won't miss the 1 second 0-60 difference.

No doubt that the styling between the two cars is day and night. I like both styles but lean more towards the modern, edgy C8 style. I'm planning on driving a 2021 Supra next week. I've never seen one up close and have never driven one. I have at least sat in the C8. The C8 has plenty of room and I didn't have the "boxed in" feeling that some critics have reported due to the climate control ridge.
Supra Interior Specs

Shoulder room — front/rear (in.) 54.4
Leg room — front/rear (in.) 42.2
C8 Interior Specs
Front Head Room 37.90 in
Front Shoulder Room 54.40 in
Front Leg Room 42.80 in
The Supra marketing claims that it achieved a "perfect" 50/50 balance due to its rearward placed front engine. I can't compare the C8 when I drive the Supra next week, since I've never driven a C8.

I have a new Supra and a C8 on order. You can’t really compare the two. The Supra is $20k less than the C8 2LT which has similar options. While I’m excited for the C8, the Supra is a very fun car to drive. I have a downpipe and tune at around 450whp. Most who hate on the Supra never drove one. Also you can get a Supra now, probably over a year wait if you ordered a C8 today.

So far this thread has remained civil a lot longer than I expected. But I'm only about 5 posts into the thread! I'll know more about the interior room of the Supra next week. I used to have a Miata. Purchased it new and sold it 6 months later. The Miata (early 2000's model as best I recall) had barely enough room for my frame. It handled really well. However the suspension was extremely stiff, to the point that it would hurt my back when I crossed railroad tracks. The polyurethane paint was also extremely soft. I was actually able to peel the paint off the inside door with my finger nails.
