So i am reaching out to some of you knowledgeable Corvette aficionados. In your experience how long should a quality control check take on a car pulled June18th? All comments welcomed

I remember in 2013 for the C7,most quality control cases were a week or 2,
but in some isolated case ,some members were in QC beyond a month...
I remember they were ....

Not unusual for cars to get "stuck" in the yard for extended periods, depending on the issue. Repairmen have high seniority & pick the "low hanging fruit". Ask me how I know?

The longer it takes the more i am thinking the worst. To make matters worse the other car that was supposed to be delivered with mine also has not shipped?. But on the bright side there are at least 15 dealerships up the East Coast also have not received shipments .

As all comments are welcomed I will make one. When employed as an overworked investigator there were many more files on my docket than could be timely processed, but I always made best effort to keep the chain moving in an orderly fashion. Sure way to extend your case was to constantly complain about your case not being completed. That put you back to the bottom of the pile.

perhaps someone at BG Final Assembly Plant reads the C8 Forum and has noticed you.

OR it could just be a situation that will correct itself shortly and you will get your car very soon. At least yours is built.

Mine came off of the line on the 19th, shipped out yesterday the 25th, and is now at my dealer.

Thanks for your comment but i highly doubt you are correct. You comment does not hold water. Well how do you explain that the other car being held up with mine is also going to the same dealership. The only one’s they are really hurting is the dealership being they already paid for these 2 cars. You know what they say about opinions and comments every one has one just like everyone has a rear end.

I have given up a long time ago with the concierge. When i would reach out to them their reply sounded like they were reading a script.

Both cars were damaged in transit, which is why neither made it to the dealership and everyone is silent about it until the GM lawyers get it sorted out with the dealership. Does that comment hold enough water for you?

I don’t explain it. I commented.

And you continue to display yours.

Not unlike yourself I enjoy a healthy debate over any subject. Refreshments make it more fun.

I sincerely hope you get your car soon. Then you can expend effort on something worthwhile rather than something you have absolutely no control over.

Cheers

Sort of depends on whether it is a standard quality control hold that is placed on all produced cars or for a specific issue that was found. If a specific issue was found they may have to wait for parts (can't take parts out of inventory since they are scheduled for cars going through the production line). If it is a paint issue that needs to be addressed the car has to be sent to a paint shop to have the paint corrected. There are all sorts of things and each one may take a different time to resolve.

I did not come on this site to get into a pissing match with philosophers. Son if you only knew who contacted me from GM you would be eating crow.

Was it Dave? Dave??? Is that YOU Dave????

I hate suspense....almost as much as my wife loves a good "soapie" (i.e., this one)

My friend of a buddy, who is a holistic engineer and lives near Kentucky has said the problem is a logistics delay in delivery of the perambulators needed in the heliocentric tapered fasteners, made in Woomera, Australia. They expect an 8-12 month hold at the plant.

I’m with C8 Jake on this one. Please enlighten us with your illustrious GM contact. Those of us patiently awaiting production and delivery of our cars would like to know. Being the Old Salt that you are you must have really impressed them.

You came on this site to get comments. You've been doing that for months, along with your rant that you're a 9/11 Responder who always hints that he deserves special treatment from GM, Bowling Green, your dealer, and now us. But when you get comments from us, you **** all over the person who took the time to offer advice. Why anyone bothers to try to help you (anymore) is surprising. I guess folks here want to help, even if they get pissed on by a miserable malcontent like you.
