High wing spoiler
I have the 5ZZ High Wing Spoiler ordered with my 2020 Event 3000 C8 for $1150 but that includes install. Not an easy task as the whole rear bomber etc has to be removed. It's my understanding, if it is backordered, it will be sent to the dealer (in my case the Courtesy Delivery Dealer) when it is and they will install (and get paid from GM when they do as they did for the Stage 2 Aero Option on my current 2017 Grand Sport.)

In fact, I'll give to the "Great Corvette Tech" at my Courtesy Delivery Dealer the Z51 spoiler as a tip for the install! He is very good and can sell it however! Can use the High Wing packaging to protect while shipping!!

Because the car is not a Z-51, the rear facia needs rework (holes drilled) and more items removed and reinstalled to facilitate installation of the high wing. What is this process?
This is not required for Z-51 cars because those spoilers are installed at the factory. The only information that I have confirmed is that for any of you that purchased one of these high wing spoilers for your C8 please understand if you don't have it installed by the dealership (from your original order at $1100) it will not be honored for any warranty or damage issues due to non GM dealer installation. This is the same policy for those that ordered the painted engine cover in silver or red. So if you install yourself, no warranty for either item.
I haven't seen much detailed description about how this option gets from order to installation. Also, what is covered under warranty. Mainly it's a love the high wing or hate situation.
I wonder if anyone has dared to take a high wing through a non-touchless car wash. Normally, there is a specific GM test procedure that validates exterior items by running the same vehicle through about 50 successive car washes and rents a car wash after hours to run this test.
Here is exactly what you are asking. It's short but 5 minutes in shows the base car with a wing having holes drilled being installed
But this is a much better video, not a base car but detailed "How To Remove" rear bumper. Not easy:
PS: Doubt Bowling Green ever sees the High Wing! Like my current Grand Sport Stage 2 Aero Option, a GM computer sends a message to the vendor and says send XYZ dealer part number ABC and put this VIN on the box. My stuff got to the dealer service department well before the car! Why waste receiving cost, storage space/cost and then move to shipping in Bowling Green. Let the Vendor ship once!
(As I would tell our Distributor Owners, "The same Brown Truck that delivers from your store after you spent money and time receiving our product, putting it on the shelf, paying folks to find, pack and ship, is the same Brown Truck who will deliver the same product from our factory!" Worked, increased sales since I knew our biggest competitor would not drop ship! Also our distributors didn’t trust them with their customer names as they also sold directly to large fabricators!)

As far as paint; vents, mirrors and other things for the C7 were painted by Vendors and delivered to Bowling Green painted. Recall some Z06 hoods were painted that way and there were posts about color match! GM gives the vendor a paint code and they paint. Probably no different than variations from batch to batch in Bowling Green!
Hmm, Corvette - car wash??

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Spoiler is held in with 6 bolts. And double sided tape.

However like the C7 bottom bumper I removed to install my C7 Carbon diffuser, which has clips that are a PIA, this looks like all bolts.
Yep, 6 bolts to hold the spooler but looks lie 30+ to remove the bumper! Any tricks or things to watch out for?

It really helps to have the small 1/4 inch drive snap on electric ratchets, makes the job go way way faster.

Thanks great info! Still doing that in 16 minutes is remarkable! I seldom have a mod etc that tanks that little time. But them it's fun so it's enjoyable as well as taking the time for pics!It is much better when someone like yourself defines how and how easy. Gives the confidence for DIYer like myself I won't run into unexpected issues. Thanks again!

I forgot to mention, that I am a mechanic with 30 years experience. But it is a very novice job. It is very easy.
Thanks,
I copied your post and will show it to the great Corvette tech who will install mine (assuming GM will send it sometime!) Will make him feel better as I hope the GM allotted time (and amount of bonus he'll earn) will make him feel better! For us DIY folks time is not the issue but unexpected things you run into are! My latest input from my Kerbeck Salesman and the Corvette Concierge say it's still on order BUT if GM does removed from Event 3000 C8's - I'm ready to do it myself! I'm 77 but still in good shape and easier than the rear diffuser I installed on my 2017 Grand Sport! It's also fun when it's not your job!
SIDEBAR
You might find some comments I remember from my Uncle many years ago when I bought my first new car, a 1967 Corvair. He had been Service Manager at a very large Chevy Dealer and was the General Manager when I purchased the 1967. He had helped me stuff an Olds engine into my first car, a '41 Ford Coupe ~8 years prior when I was in high school. I had a "used Corvair" prior and his feeling of what helped kill the Corvair was dealer mechanics as they could not beat the Chevy book times for a job with "tricks" they learned over the years with Chevy 6 and small block V8's!
Recall he had a great mechanic when he was Service Manger who was slow. In fact, when my Dad or I needed a pro to do something he would tell us to go to him at his home on a weekend because he was very good and meticulous. BUT he said, I'm going to have to let him go because he doesn't make bonus and I can get twice as much work out with my best guys in the service bay space he's taking! Yep it's a business!

Hmm, you didn't read "the lark" posts or watch this video. NO NEED to jack the car! Yep Conti video showed that BUT this is a much better video with all details and they did not jack the car.
Now "the lark" did the whole job in 16 minutes" but he was a mechanic for 30 years!
Having watch both I MAY want to put my two jacks on jack pads and raise the car BUT not have the wheels off the ground. Should provide somewhat better access and I'm not trying to break any records or getting a bonus for a quick time!
