During times when we’re cooped up at home doing work, and going a little stir crazy, Corvette Forum provides a welcome distraction. Living with the means that allows us to purchase a Corvette is something that many gearheads aspire to. At the risk of incurring the wrath of a moderator or others suggesting this post is off topic or political, I’d like to suggest we create our own virtual RPO code when we finally finalize our 2021 order. I made my occasional trip to downtown L.A. to drop off clothing at the L.A. Mission last week. If you haven’t been to LA, fifth avenue, or the disparaging term of skid row, has one of the highest concentrations of homeless. This area is literally blocks away from the high rise condos of bunker hill, the financial district, and the headquarters of LAPD. All the way there on the freeway, I was thinking of whether I should choose the new Rest Mist Metallic or the Silver Flare, waiting for the new 2021 configurator to go live, and whether to pony up the additional $995 for the dual stripes. There’s a lot of homeless gearheads facing hard times, adults and kids with worn and faded tee shirts and jackets we all have worn in the past—including one guy with an iconic 60’s powder blue Goodyear jacket with the white and yellow stripes. This jacket was identical to one I wore at my first job—a Goodyear Tire Center busting tires for $1.05 an hour. Thinking about the options I’d choose, while many pull all of their total belongings behind them—made me seem like an idiot in his own bubble. With so many people soliciting our help and people in need everywhere, I know many of us get overwhelmed by the need, tune it out, and don’t do much. For us Corvette people, acknowledge as we scroll down today’s topics, a do a little something, anything to a cause at least as interesting as our choice of wheels for our new C8. As I mentally construct my build sheet, my new RPO is LAM, followed up by a check to Los Angeles Mission https://give.losangelesmission.org/p...urce=DIGI-HOME, and in better times, I’d Ask GM or my selling dealer to match my donation. What RPO and cause would you choose?
