Default Rocker panels

I was considering the GM accessory Rocker Panels (black composite ) but not willing to drill and rivet into my new lower rocker panels. Like the look of that accent.

Was considering having them wrapped. I did my roof today in 3m 1080 G212 gloss metallic to match the carbon flash trim almost exactly! See pictures.Like the look.

Not sure would use the same for rocker moldings, too glossy? The GM accessory rocker kit are a composite textured mold and I believe more of a flat black or satin?

or do I wait for aftermarket to address other options?

Ideas or thoughts welcomed,

thanks

Great job on the roof. I am going to get aftermarket carbon flash rockers after my C8 arrives.

I considered doing the same thing but then realized that the OEM rocker panel covers actually extend it out a bit so I went ahead and added to my order. What I planed to do is more of a flat black or satin to match the look of the front lip. That's really the key in my opinion.

Your roof looks GREAT!

They just so happen to be located in my city. Ordered both rocker extension and front splitter in carbon flash 4 days ago. Local pick up soon!

The roof looks great! I'd wait for aftermarket, I'm sure if they have SEMA this year in Vegas there will be a lot of options for the C8's.

Also let us know how hard the rockets are to install. I was looking at them over the GM STI option and was going to try installing them myself.

Using rivets is overkill. Get some good 3M double sided tape and the rivets are not warranted. It’s overkill big time for this location and what they are ...

If you are going to wrap the GM parts you will have to sand them smooth first. Tried the 3M wrap on the dimpled parts and it would not stick.

Have you tried this with the GM rocker covers? That’s an interesting thought, I suspect you are correct. That would be a less permanent method to attach them and would relieve my anxiety over drilling holes in my new car! If anyone tries that let us know how it goes.

Any recommendations on which 3M tape would be best for this sort of an application?
