You used to be able to get OnStar activated, but GM shut that down (thank YouTube clown Chevy Dude for that). If your dealer (perhaps the inventory manager) has an account with Jack Cooper, they could do it for you but probably won't be very willing (and understandably so - they have their normal job to do).

It wasn't Chevy Dude making a video about it, it's the hundreds of other people following his lead. That doesn't absolve him from anything, but there are a ton of people on this very board who posted about doing the same thing. Should be pretty common sense not to do that even if you watch a video showing you how. Give people 1 inch and they'll try and take 34 miles.

Hundreds did it for their C7's. It was a common question in the C7 sections and there were step by step instructions to do it. It wasn't shut down until Chevy Dude plastered his YouTube videos about it and his related stupid stunts.
