Default Ideas While Waiting For C8

Been a long wait since July 2019. To help with the wait I've been buying things "needed!" Well some were necessities and others were inexpensive. My TPS is 8/17 not much longer!
.
  1. Some type of floor mat was essential as the 3LT Natural Dipped Tan would not do for my DD. The GM all-weather with Jake are perfect.
  2. The the Truck and Frunk bottom covers had the same Jake embossed and were only $100 (+shipping) so had to have those.
  3. GM Splash Guards are essential in our rural area. Have side skirts on order that will also protect the rocker panels.
  4. It was just found tapping the C8 mirror for power is easy so the Blendmount wire tap and ESCORT Detector used on my C7 will work fine.
  5. Would not live with the Z51 brake dust so the Carbotech 1521 pads are ready to install day 1. Bought the proper TP40, T40 sockets & 10 point 9mm female socket ready for the front pad center brace.
  6. Gray background Jake center wheel caps I had, should work on my Spectrum Gray Trident wheels
  7. McGard Wheel Locks were only $22 and they are what GM sells for $90!
  8. With no rear cubby, where to put my tools and jack pads? My Smith & Wesson Governor Case and old Camera Case hold all I had in the C7!
Hope it provides some ideas to help pass the time!

Depending on how many cars got built today, ours may be built tomorrow, Wednesday !!!

Thanks for the reminder, Jerry ...... only thing I am currently missing but intended to purchase right away was the McGard wheel locks..... are the 24215 set the correct ones ( chrome, not black) ? M14 XX 1.5.

I'll hold off on swapping my brake pads for a month or so.

Already got my:
SanDisk Extreme Pro 256 G SD card,
Reverse Logic lug extenders ( to save my back when putting wheels back on),
Adams Graphene Ceramic Kit,
A 35 ft long pool hose for my Metro Master Blaster so I can leave the unit mounted on the garage wall and not have to drag it around
Same all weather floor mats ( Jake) as you .... be here tomorrow
Same all weather trunk and trunk liners as you.... be here tomorrow
Torch Red Engine Cover coming soon from American HydroCarbon
5VM front splitter and side skirts from C7 Carbon in Carbon Fiber .... coming soon
Front grill protector kit from Custom Car Grills...... in route to me now
Illuminated Door Sill kit ( GM ) be here tomorrow

Thanks,

Yep, McGard 24215. Bought on Amazon BUT still does not show the C8 properly, keeps using the C7 locks. Had not thought about SanDisk card- thanks for info.

I did buy the Reverse Logic lug extensors. Had them for my Grand Sport and were a big help with the 12 inch rear wheels!

I can't believe you've been waiting since July of 2019, that's ridiculous. I don't GAF how many allocations dealers get, if you placed your order anywhere your delivery should be based on when you placed your order not where.

Heck I was late ordering- purposely as I had a 2017 Grand Sport (which i just sold!) Those are NOT orders with GM they are with a dealer. Oh, you can get an Event Code 1100 if that makes you feel better that only means what was ordered was checked with the GM computer. BUT it has nothing to do with when you'll get your car! That can only happen when GM says, we're opening up a Build Order Window (as I call it.) Would you want everyone to try to enter all the cars they could that day! That's like bidding on eBay!

The GM system is logical. Those dealers who help them sell Vettes in the winter so they don't have to lay off workers etc, get the benefit of having higher allocations! Those dealers also discount heavily to push cars and have a record of doing what it takes to sell cars in what are consider off months. I ordered my 2017 Grand Sport from Kerbeck when winter discounts were 17%! They help GM. Bet not many dealers in Canada were placing large Vette orders in January!

FWIW made a three step pic of "How To" connect a Blendmount wire kit to the back of a C8 mirror. Sounds and looks easy per the video; URL in the bottom pic.

Agreed. I got my C7Z at kerbeck. I got it towards the end of the summer and they had TONS, and TONS of C7's there. If i had to wait that long for a build for C7, i'd cancel it and just get whatever is off the lot at a somewhat near big name corvette dealer.

But because this is the C8, which is the next installment of the corvette, or as i call it, "the beginning and the end" meaning since this is a mid engine now, i separate it from the previous gen corvettes. The greatest FE corvette is the C7 ZR1.

Now it's a new beginning, the C8, the greatest! I would wait man. Don't give up. This is really a special car. And i love ALL cars. But this C8 is really something special. It's not a car you can just go ehhh, the car i really want i can't find, so let me just go to the chevy dealer tomorrow and get a C8. No the cars are so hard to get. So desired. Everyone wants one. I want one! And i'm willing to give up my C7Z for one!

Don’t forget a tow hook for your emergency kit if you don’t already have one from your C7.

^^^ 16 Falcon,

Good thinking..... I've got a "V Bridle" left from my C7 that I'll keep in the trunk. Will keep from tearing off the front splitter or other front end damage, if it should have to get pulled up on a RollBack.

With the shorter nose on the C8, it should even be better yet for use.

Lol, I was going to mention that too but figured that was probably more than most people would want (I already got a “V bridle” for the C8 from the eBay vendor mentioned in the C7 section). I’m an Eagle Scout.....Be Prepared and all that.

There is one in that Smith & Wesson Governor case I have holding tools!

Had it for my Grand Sport! Only used it at the 1 car show it entered when new!

Only Show my Grand Sport entered as my Street Rod cried when I pulled in as she knew that was her job!

Yep, 30 miles from Courtesy Delivery to home! Hopefully GM will have solution BUT if not will make a tether and bring a few wrenches and install. Have two carbines and chain- just need to make two brackets and have metal I can cut and drill. I'll bring some wrenches or pay the super Corvette Tech that will do the PDI to help install!
