2021 Configurator
Agreed! Even though I already have my ‘21 order in with my dealer, I still like messing around with the options (yes, I know I can still change my order if I wanted). The 2020 configurator will have to continue to pacify me in the mean time!

I knew when I put a deposit on a C8 that I'd get bumped into the 2021 line and the way things look now maybe the 2022 line! So you might as well just wait.
If prices go up too much I'll just have to peel back some options. But, this ain't my first rodeo. I waited thru 3 orders to get my C5, 2 to get my C6, 2 to get my C7 and that's why I put a deposit with 2 dealers, hoping that at least one of them will show up!

Dang, I would kill to have a workbench order right now. Just like many, been waiting since mid 2019. Getting so ancy waiting at this point. I'm thirsty for any info to keep me occupied.
This discussion is a pretty interesting read. I have read that you can expect to wait 12 to 18 months to get your C8, but that may be an aggressive timeline at best. Right? I called my local dealer and put a deposit down, and of course he asked me to email him my build request, which I did. I asked him if it was really worth doing that yet, as I have read that some options on the 2021 (mag ride) are included, whereas, I had to pay more for this option on the configurator. He just kept saying he would look that up, and said he would let me know if things change. He didn't mention anything about dealership allocations or anything. He just kept saying the deposit would get the car on order. From what I am reading here, I think something is not correct with my set up. I would hope that the final cost would reflect a lower charge for the car, if an option is included in the build.
Any inputs on what I am hearing from my local dealer? This was the internet dealer from my local dealership.
Thanks....

As far as allocations go, there is lots of information on this forum about what you need to know. The short answer is that if you want to know if you will be getting a 2021 car you need to know the number of allocations your dealer expects and where you are on your dealers list.
As for the op@16falcon covered this as well. You can get Mag Ride without Z51, so it is less than 2020, but it is not included in the base car. It is still a $1900 stand alone option. Here you can find the 2021 PRICE LIST. You should be able to add up your options and get rather close. I know some parts have dependencies, so you may not be able to account for all of those unless you know them.
Hope that helps. Good luck with the purchase!!
Who knows as Camaro starting production of 2021 models today but you still can't build one on Chevy's site...Dealer allotments won't be out til fall...Doesn't really matter as they won't build 2021s til January IMHO.

I think you are confusing some issues. Mag ride is definitely not include on the 2021. For 2020 mag ride was only available as an option with the Z51 package, for 2020 it is also available as an option on a non Z51 car. In either case, Z51 or non Z51, MSRC mag ride is an option which you will pay for.

lovin this site!
I just asked my dealer how many allocations they had, and where I sat within those. His answer was that they are now full and are no longer taking deposits. I hope that means I’m “In”. ??

Bad answer!!! Might mean you are at the tail end of the list with no hope!! Get exact numbers. How many allocations the dealer expects to get for the year and what number you are!!! Then go to macm and be treated right. Ps: He's my mother in law.
These are the first codes:
- 1000 – Order On Hold at Dealership
- 1100 – Order Placed at Dealership
- 2000 – Order Accepted by Chevrolet
- 2050 – Order Changed
- 2500 – Order Preferenced (or “Picked Up” or “Imaged”)
- 3000 – Order Accepted by Production Control
If it's like what happened with the 2020, the 1st "Build Order Window," Kerbeck who had the largest allocation of ~1400 was only allowed to place ~50 as I recall or about a 1/3rd of the annual number divided by a 10 month production plan. So a dealer with 30 allocations for 2020 (that is a pretty big Corvette dealer) instead of being able to order 3 (i.e. 30/10) they might be only able to order 1. So even if you were #6, you would have to wait for several "Build Windows" before your dealer could order your car.
And it's not the dealers size or total dollars spent with GM, it's only the number of Corvettes they sold in the prior year (or perhaps the average of the prior 2) at that dealership. For a large overall dealer like Hendrick, it's only based on that dealership NOT the ~50 he owns! For example the large (and only) Chevy Dealer in town also sells BMW and Mercedes. They have dealerships in a number of places in the SE. But they sell few Vettes in the one in town (Vettes are not big in our area.) In fact they sell many more high end BMW's. They always have a Vette in the Chevy Showroom to pull folks in to sell them Camaro's and Silverado's! Since we bought the wife's last 2 BMW SUV's from them when I visit that Showroom/service waiting area they might have 6 or 7 BMW's. Often some $150,000 and many "M" models. (We're the medical center for NE SC and lots of doctors etc!) BUT they only had an allocation of 4 or 5 2020 C8s. They like all others had that cut about in half because of the strike and mostly pandemic.
So you can't look at a dealership and say they are large - MUST know their Corvette allocation. My understanding is they may not have their 2021 allocation BUT you can ask what their 2020 was an use it and what number you are as an indicator for 2021.
