I was able to place an order for a 2021 HTC this morning. Several dealers would not take my order because they don’t have allocations yet. This dealer doesn’t have allocations either but he entered my order into the system and now I have the order at 1100 status. Another dealer told me yesterday they would give me a place in line for a 2022 for $1,000 but no guarantee I would actually get to place the order.
My philosophy has always been “100 phone calls 99 no’s.” Of course this guy may not get the allocation but if he does I will get my car. I am number 13 in the stack. He normally sells 20 Corvettes a year.

Why wouldn't you just go to MacMulkin?
Great service and your would likely get your car sooner.
Strange that your dealer is just now telling you that your order was accepted, since it was accepted in March. But if it’s at 3000 status GM says it will be a 2020. Hopefully you’ll have it before the end of the year.
I agree it’s strange that the dealer would wait five months to confirm an order. Better hope it doesn’t sit at the dealership for five months before he notices that it’s there.

Once you get outside the “major forum dealers”, it’s the Wild West infested with bushwhackers, liars and thieves. It’s inevitable when a manufacturer sets no standards for those who sell their product.
