Default Today The Wait Begins

This morning I put down a deposit on a 2021 convertible. I have just a short time to decide how I want it configured. A short ten to twelve months. Oh, well. I'll enjoy my 2019 Z51 coupe until then.

I'm leaning toward a base 2LT since I'm not a track guy and I'd like the all-season tires. We shall see.

Tick, tick, tick ...

The club? Are there dues? A secret handshake? A decoder ring? I'm in.

Unfortunately, I don't even have work to distract me. Ok, not that unfortunate.

Try sleeping. A sage I once worked with told me sleeping eight hours a day shortened the deployment by a third.

I just put a deposit down on a coupe and was told that I will be able to configure it by mid September. You were told 10-12 months to configure?

Why do you think you only have a short time to decide? Your order won't need to be finalized for months.

Welcome to the club! Input my deposit late July. Was told the same, 10-12 months until I see it. So that means May-July. Plenty of time to figure out what I want and change my mind over and over again.

Depends who you put a deposit with, and how many allocations they get, and how many others they have in front of you.

If your dealer only gets 20 allocations and you are number 21, then you are in for a long wait. If your dealer gets 800 allocations and you are number 799, still in for a wait but not as long of a wait as #21 at the other dealer!

I was told 10-12 months by Mike Furman, with whom i placed the order (or got on the list with) and Chevy Dude said the same thing in a recent video. Rick Conti also suggested it would be a long wait. My local dealer is likely to get 6-8 allocations and has 10 on his waiting list so that wait would likely be closer to infinity.

No... but it's like burning your wrists with a lit cigarette... You pay your dues in hours of combing the Forum for signs of Hope... There is no decoder ring... Just Maisto models that may or may not look like your car. If you can even find one in the ransacked Sam's Club display

I have a model, but it's a coupe, and Torch Red so there's some work for me to do since I'm getting a convertible and not in TR. I'll keep poring over the forums for that one ray of sunshine.

As i said in my original post, Tick, tick, tick ,,,

Thanks for your perspective. I’m in the middle of the projected 2021 allocations at the largest dealer in California. I’m ok to wait a year, but some of the smaller dealers are now telling customers to expect 2022. Yikes.

Ha Ha... so true...

Just stir in dash of whining, complaining, and gnashing of teeth... let it set overnight, and bake for 11 months...
