Yeah... my car has orange peel too... I wish it was better paint quality but there are pros and cons with mass produced cars and pros and cons with hand built and limited production cars but honestly I've seen much much cheaper cars with a lot less orange peel... I hope GM prioritizes some improvements in the paint process... This is fixable...
No problem with orange peel paint on my Artic White C8. When over every inch of it prior to taking it to have it wrapped. Wanted to make sure if there was problem, could take care of it 1st.
Posted by a moronic troll. You can throw **** at the car all day long, but when asked to put up something better you've got nothing.
This is the part of the problem. If people stopped accepting sub par products things would improve. But if you accept everything given and never hold anyone to anything you will continue to be given sub par.

Everything passes QC at GM. Have you seen some of the stuff that leaves the plant? I could spot these defects from a mile away looking through a pair of binoculars. Everything gets the tick of approval, there is NO QC and more than enough evidence that QC at GM is a fictional department.
When you buy a corvette they aren’t saying that your getting A $30K professional paint job. It is what it is.
I love my C8 and it's an incredible value but If Kia can sell you a car for $22k with virtually a perfect paint job void of any orange peel then GM should be able to do the same on a $60-100k car. I could just stare at this car for hours it's so beautiful but I shouldn't have to throw my hands up when I focus on it...

With that attitude nothing will ever change at GM. They can see the customers are happy so why should they up their game. As the poster above has stated, others can do it on cheaper cars why does GM have an issue with their 500million upgraded paint booth?
My torch red is beautiful. There was a few spots of what looked like white overspray on the top of the drivers rear quarter that came right off with a clay bar.
There was a small 1.5" round circular spot where you can see a buffing mark likely to remove a dust particle. Polished right out.
Can't wait to get heat in the garage so I can graphene coat.

Sorry about yours. What color?

Kia can NOT sell you a $22k car with "perfect" paint...Go to a Kia dealer and look at the NEW cars ON THE LOT. They are NOT perfect or even close. Orange peel is a REALITY of mass produced cars.
Our C8 Sebring orange paint is outstanding even under fluorescent lighting. Bought a 2019 red trail boss Chevy truck and it has a lot of orange peel in the paint, go figure.

Not on all of them. We owned 2 Mitsubishi Outlanders (2014, 2016), one black and one silver. Both cars were $30k & both had great paint without any orange peel. My wife’s ‘16 Wrangler JKU - no orange peel. Heck I had a ‘12 Fiat 500 Sport, $17k brand new and great paint without any orange peel.
That said, my wife’s brand new ‘20 Velvet Red Grand Cherokee High Altitude (MSRP $55k & change) has probably the worst orange peel I’ve ever seen on a vehicle. The white one she test drove - zero orange peel
To others’ point, Corvette owners have justified the poor paint quality for generations by pointing to the power/performance for the $ argument. As long as it’s tolerated, it’ll continue to stay subpar.

Not sure you recognize orange peel. I just went with my friend to pick up his Elkhart blue and it had plenty off orange peel. As someone who has painted a few cars I doubt Chevrolet is putting out different textures on their paint jobs.
I need to do a bit of a Mia Culpa here... The alleged Orange Peel was observed when my car is on the lift in the garage under the the fluorescent light... Upon closer inspection and after inspecting the car more closely in outdoor lighting it turns out that it was an optical illusion in the garage created by the lights reflecting off of the soft gray textured walls and ceiling in my garage.. The paint quality is actually pretty damn good... As they say: My bad

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
