Daily driving this C8I
i treated my last C6 like a museum piece but in the end it depreciated even with very low miles.
I will try to avoid the crowded parking lots and needless miles but will not shy away from enjoying it. If you drive your car it will have wear and tear so be ready for that and dont be too upset when chip happens no pun intended.
I've got 4200 miles on mine since March. So far no chip has happend!
I made the mistake of not driving my 02 Convertible, sold it with 46,000 miles on it two months ago. My new 2021(early retirement gift to myself) will be my daily driver and road trip driver.
C8 will be no different than the past 2 or 3 generations. Way too many will have them as garage queens, saving them for the next owner. Not me. I daily drive my Corvettes. They're a lot more fun to drive than to look at in your garage.
At 61 this month and my fourth corvette. My c8 z51 will be my daily driver @ around 10 to 12k a year.
I laugh and say to friends when I'm dead and buried people will remember me as a guy who lived a good life, was happy and did the best I could every minute of everyday to enjoy the simple things in life so many of us take for granted.
we all enjoy life differently...

Great post Man, excellent outlook and approach to life. I think we can all take some inspiration from this.

Some will drive the heck out of the car, others will make them like a time capsule and store them away. No different than has happened with the first year of a new generation In recent times.
Driven apx 5000 miles year one and then stored mostly. With everyone else daily driving, will only make a low miles C8 that much rarer. And I’m donating her to the museum when I’m gone - which I’m hoping is 25 years or more from now. So it’s my job to keep her as close to perfect as possible. My Lexus SUV is a great daily driver, dependable and practical - especially with a family of 4 and a Great Dane!
We bought it to travel in, my wife and I like to take road trips across the country and take a lot of highways and take a lot of scenic routes, we’re getting older so she wanted something that was fast, she is a speed freak, but have more creature comforts so it will get some miles put on it. We have a 69 big block Chevelle convertible resto mod that we put about 10,000 miles a year on. Last trip we drove 8000 Miles in 18 days up to the north west through all the national parks. So the Chevelle is going to get to rest a little bit.
I will daily drive mine in Texas year round. I'm sure there will still be plenty of people that store them and only drive 1k miles a year or so.
Make the Corvette the "+1" car in a household as is often the case, and it's just not going to get the use that it would as a daily driver.
Also, don't overlook the elderly driver factor: I expected to put a lot of miles on my C7, but it ended up in the garage a lot as my wife had health issues. Then I did.
It sucks, but it will be a great deal for whoever owns it next down the road.
In retirement, my wife and I have access to too many cars and fewer places to go. So IT will get driven as much as I can but 3000-5000 miles a year is a pretty big stretch. Part of my enjoyment of nice cars includes the "garage queen" factor which is washing, waxing, wrenching, modding, and staring....it's not just a matter of driving IT with me. The SUVs are our version of "dailys", but in the end, mine will likely fit in the garage queen class as viewed by others.

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
